Why do you think what I said is misinformation?

Because everything you post is misinformation. Apple stores do not wrap up returned phones and sell them as new.

For anyone listening to j2ee, check his history. Most of his hundreds of posts are in a bunch of threads in the wasteland, all on this so called chip conspiracy. And he doesn't use an iPhone.

I'm glad you said it, as we were thinking it. :D

So, you lost the chip lottery. No big deal, nobody is even going to notice, not even you unless you're a big gamer or something. Most people will be jealous that you even have an iPhone 6s, and know nothing about chipgate. After 6 tries, just be happy with your phone, it's not worth further frustration.

My launch 6s plus was a TSCM however, it had screen bloctches at the top, my second was a genius replacement and had a TSCM but a yellow screen, my 3rd genius replacement was a Samsung but had the blotches again. The next day I saw a senior manager who agreed there was an issue. Apple swapped it again and the 4th is a Samsung. Not really noticed a difference between the processors but this replacement is perfect, beautiful blue screen and not a single issue, also perfect home button. I'm in the UK, all brand new replacements but white flat box.

Okay so no performance issues at all? Between those differently socs.

Did you get a refurbished one? Or a new one?

where do I get iPhone 6s plus with TSMC A9 chip ? Which apple retail store/model has high possibility to have TSMC chip. Please share from your experience. I have already returned 6 phones by now but keep getting samsung chip. Please help
best thing you can do is to return the last one and stop wasting Apple Store employees time ....

I'm looking forward to Apple raising prices and enforcing more rules on returns because of people like you. Thanks!
I think it is already happening ...

All your iDevices are already priced with the returns factored in.

As much of an Apple fan I am, please don't give them a reason to get even more greedy like selling a 16gb phone for the price of a 32gb if you know what I mean.
Returns are surely factored, but not serial returns like those happening in forums like this.

TSMC is the superior chip. Apple is going fully with TSMC for a10 production also
there is no superior chip. They are equivalent.

How on earth can this forum help you in you quest of finding TSMC chip?
A good medic could help :D

Is your phone performing poorly in terms of battery life or speed?
How could he know ? He is too busy in returning it to actually use it ! ;)

Likely. My point is more that the return policy should be used to take back defective products and not because of paranoia.

See this proves Samsung chip the better phone, no blotches on screen, good buttons, no yellow, good home button. Dang that chip really works.;) T in C

true.
I'm afraid Apple would change its return policy over the time "thanks" to these geniuses keep returning perfectly functioning products.
It happens all the times: iPad with "image retention", iPad with "resonating cases", iPhone with "rattling switches" ...

If you are extremely picky (or have OCD...) I could understand 1-2 returns ... but after that you have to deal with the fact that the product isn't up to your "presumed" standard, ask for a full refund and go find something else.

That many pointless freak outs?

I bought mine yesterday, was so happy to see it was the tsmc one and not the Samsung one, I don't care if it's only marginal better in performance. Better is better, and from the videos I watched online, I definitely like the extra 5-7% battery power! Every bit counts!

To answer your question, got mine from the Apple Store in Charleston SC, 128 GB, At&t, 6s rose gold. Good luck

The Samsung a9 is better according to certain sites/reports. You still happy? o_O

Although I still believe that a 'good' TSMC is preferable to a 'good' Samsung chip, due to the silicon lottery there will be plenty of Samsung chips out there performing better than TSMC. It's in the lap of the gods what kind of performance you'll get from either chip but it will be at least as good as Apple's quoted specs.

I think Apple should offer a special experience at an extra price for the extremely picky/OCD. This package should include flying out to the factory in Shenzhen, and having a guided tour to making your specific phone. At each step the person would be able to pick out the specific part they want used, and oversee the assembly to make sure all the seams are smooth, etc.
They could examine a number of LCD screens and pick the one they feel is perfect, pick out their individual chips, pick out buttons and switches that are tight enough, not loose, etc.

I have both the Samsung A9 and TSMC A9 chip in both of my iPhone 6S plus 64gb which were purchased within the past 7 days.

Guess which one I am taking back by the battery test I ran (video test also had one better battery than the other)
