I order a Cinder via amazon and have yet to receive it but is it bad that I come back to this thread daily mainly for the drama?

Not to make light on anyone situation with the product or company.

As much as I hate to say it - and believe me I do, as I think this company is the scum of the earth, I have one of these on the way from Amazon for my 6. There just isn't a good alternative out there (I realize there may be a few now, Ice Max etc. but not many reviews etc.) and I'm tired of my PowerSupport films that don't go edge to edge. I took my film off a week or two ago because I was so sick of it and was going to try going naked but I panicked over the possibility of getting micro scratches in the oleophobic coating to the point that I was basically severely limiting how much I was using my phone.

Supposedly it's arriving next Thursday.

My fingernail literally scratched the glass. It's a deep scratch too, lol gorilla glass yeah okay...

Edit: wow just saw someone on Amazon reviews say the same. It's not Gorilla Glass, they contacted Corning themselves:
That sounds odd to me. When I was reviewing the Cinder screen protector this summer, I used my fingernails rather extensively to remove bubbles, and I never had any scratch issues. It sounds like yours must be defective...

Thats interesting. On the Cupert site there is no mention of Gorilla Glass. On the Indiegogo site its mentioned.

I THINK WE HAVE BEEN DUPED.
Cupert's website (www.cupert.com) mentions Corning Gorilla Glass--it's in the description of the Cinder that pops up when you first view the site: "The 0.20 mm Corning® Gorilla® Glass is tempered to be exceptionally durable"...

I contacted Corning as well and asked specifically about Cinder from Cupert. I will let you know their answer when I get it.

It is a shame we still have no shipping numbers yet. And that they are giving us new numbers means as well, that they did not ship it at any point they claimed. How can they give it to the post office, where the bar codes are scanned and then take it back? That is just not possible.

Well they sent out a new update this morning. Hopefully what they say is true this time.

Dear backers,

At last, the best news.
We have now received the tracking numbers for the non-US backers' consignments. And we can confirm they are all trackable, and all packages are in transit.

We will send you the new tracking numbers today by email.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused by our shipping company's mishandling of our requirements and will do our utmost to avoid any repetition of this situation in future. Although regrettable teething problems can arise due to factors beyond our control, our team always aims to provide the best possible service to our all-important customers.

That is why we are so delighted to announce that your CINDER is now on its way, with our thanks for your patience.
Happy days.

Best regards,

Team Cupert Technology

I read this update. But that means that the previous three times they claimed to have sent the packages cannot be true.

Too funny.

I've installed three samples of CINDER and no scratches. I handled them extensively. I took a knife to the samples as well and was unable to scratch them. After the supposed Corning e-mail, I'm not defending the scratch resistance in that regard. Corning or not, it's extremely durable. No fingernail is going to scratch the glass, unless you're Wolverine from X-Men. :D

My fingernails didn't do anything when I first got it but as I was trying to remove an air bubble the other day it scratched, as you can see I even got a scatch just below it as well because I tested it to see if it was really my fingernail. I didn't notice any grime or anything on my fingernail which may've caused it. I was just shcoked. *shrug*:

I tried to do a return but they don't have any stock so I just refunded and ordered the Ice Max 3D instead. Hopefully that works out better.

I wonder if the review samples are a special batch........ and then we normal buyers get the cheaper batches that scratch.
We'll see when more people got theirs and use it for a couple months.

I received my Ice Max 3D today and it fits perfectly. I don't have any complaints with it, it also came in a neat and tidy package as well. I used Amazon Prime, so I could return it pretty easily if there were any defects.

I wished they made this for the 6s Plus, but maybe they're testing the waters?

Looks more akin to a crack than a scratch.

Dude you should have your cinder by now if you were ordered from the first batch on Amazon. Cos i also ordered from Amazon around 23rd Sept, got mine delivered on 29th to shipito.com and then got it shipped by DHL to UK and it arrived yesterday. So took around 9 days from ordering on Amazon US to getting it delivered to UK :)

I call BS. Why would someone answer a random caller about who they supply? Did you ask them if Apple or IMOS use GG? Not buying it.

I think they were banned from here due to how they were treated. I don't think you will hear from them here. Maybe with an update.

Put down the pitchforks until you know the truth!

My wife's Cinder scratched at the bottom near the edge the day after I put it on. It scratched and left a metallic mark, like someone scratching paint off metal. Strange.

There is something that looks metallic scratched off from the white edge portion of my cinder also, but it was there originally before I installed mine

Gorilla Glass will scratch. You would need Sapphire Glass to avoid scratching at all. GG is scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof

The line Apple & GG walking at the moment is between scratch resistance and crack resistance. Currently, the sapphire displays are harder but more brittle. The glass displays are more immune to cracking but more prone to scratching. Rest-assured, folks much smarter than us are on it.

What, until you hear the truth? The email from the company that supplies the glass seems like " the truth ". Are you saying don't be mad until the company that was shown to be lying either admits, or denies the claim? In that case, we wouldn't be waiting for the truth, we'd just be waiting for the guys that managed to negotiate good rates from a plant in china that told them it was GG :)

I don't get this company. I received 2 Cinders from Amazon. The first one installed fine but an hour later the adhesive started bubbling and would not go away. I had no idea what was happening. And so I opened up my second pack. The screen protector cracked upon removal from the backing. I have absolutely no clue why they would put a hard tempered corning piece of glass on a rigid plastic backing. It's very troublesome to remove a piece of glass from a plastic backing. Think about it. Neither the plastic or the glass will bend.

I have ordered the IMOS before and they just include plastic film on the backing of the glass. Very easy, and simple removal from the glass. However....Cuperts method's are not. And the methods they choose really make me wonder what they're thinking.

Has anyone received their plus versions from Amazon yet? When I ordered mine I got an October 1st shipping date and just got word from Cupert that now has been pushed to the 15th. More drama.

Hey it says mine shipped yesterday. But the tracking number shows up as "Invalid" when I type it into UPS. I contacted them and they said they'd have to contact their warehouse. I thought these tracking numbers were automatically entered rather than manually. So the chances of getting an incorrect tracking number is unlikely right?
