Sorry to jump in with the random question, but what shipping options does Apple offer when pre-ordering from their site??

AT&T store. The reason is because its near my house and the lines are WAY shorter than the Apple Store lines. I mean, I could preorder it, but since I'm taking off, may as well, enjoy the experience.

Virgin is cdma. The unlocked iphone is limited to gsm only. You have to get a virgin phone to use their service. CDMA sucks.

Since this post, I've decided T-Mobile if I get the iPhone 5. I agree with your comment on CDMA, which is why I'll be purchasing unlocked. Thanks.

I voted the online Apple Store because of the experience I had pre-ordering the current generation iPad. The servers were a bit overloaded, but i eventually got my order through, even though at first it had like 5 of the iPads and 5 Apple TVs because I was thinking I hadn't hit submit or something. I'm hoping they do the pre-orders like they did for the iPad, right after the event, and not at midnight since that will be much tougher for me to do, would have to do it on my phone while finishing up work for the night.

It definitely sounds like AppleStore.com has the most complaints but has the most successes at the same time.
