Where would the strippers install the readers?
Or is it "orifi"?either way it's nasty. You just have to wave your watch near their orifices and find out.
I love your story. My odd anecdote. Live in Atlanta and don't eat fast food but went to Panera Bread to buy a loaf o bread just to try out. Told that only the lunch registers takePay. Next I go to Home Depot (store across the street from HQ) and find their system is being updated and
Pay is off line for now.
I go visit my dad this weekend in a tiny town Reidsville (pop 2500). He needs something from the store and I go to a Harvey's and get to the register and notice NFC. I ask casher and he was 100% clueless. I stuck it up there and it worked. However it made the process MUCH longer since everyone in line had several questions about what just happened.
Odd that wan't able to usePay in a big city but go to the "middle of nowhere" and it works.

Ok, if you're under duress it doesn't matter. Even if this issue weren't there whoever was putting The gun to your head would just ask you your PIN and you would give it to them.
Asleep? Really? If you're falling asleep someplace where you don't trust the other people there not to steal your stuff, then you have bigger problems. Plus they could just steal your wallet.
I have yet to see an argument regarding this flaw that didn't boil down to the fact that just stealing your wallet is lots easier.
Ok, now that we understand each other better I think it's time to put the whole theft thing to bed.
And now that I've had an Apple Watch since Thursday, and can use Apple Pay for the first time (I have a 5S), I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I'm also not surprised.
The frustration started with trying to add my cards. I was certain that I would be ready to go, since I know that Chase was one of the very first banks to support it. Turns out they support it for all of their cards EXCEPT their United Mileage cards. WTF? Thankfully I have other cards I can use with it, but I don't understand how Apple can tout support from a certain bank, when not all the cards from that bank will work.
Next, I've been noting tons of stores in my area that have contactless readers and display the catactless payment logo. Now that I can actually make use of them I learn that ALL of them are broken. Either that or the clerk doesn't know how to use them. McDonald's was the most disappointing. Went to the drive-thru and learned that the reader is bolted to the wall inside. Not exactly useful.
I did go to Whole Paycheck once and used it there. It was a quick experience, and I can see how the system has potential. I just don't see how Apple is really going to get vendors to care, let alone their minimum wage employees.
As it currently stands, I know of one vendor that Apple CLAIMS to accept Apple Pay that I shop at twice a month (PetCo). I say claims, because my experience so far is that this whole thing is a giant crap shoot, and I have zero faith that it will actually work when I get around to going there.
Interesting. Is yours MasterCard or Visa? I heard that their Visa cards work, but MasterCard doesn't.I have my Chase United card in Apple Pay.
I do use it at Winn-Dixie, Home Depot, Staples, and more - just not as often.

Tried it at Home Depot last night, and it didn't work even though the reader displayed the contactless payment logo. Could my problem be that I always try to use the self-check stations?
