I wouldn't bother with that case. The TPU top edge is held onto the metal plateau ring by a tiny rectangle of tape. Mine came unstuck first day. Returned and tried another but happened again.
Yikes that’s too bad. I guess the Black Ultra Guard it is. I really prefer the texture of the Sunset color but to me it would not look good on the silver iPhone

View attachment 2649578Does anybody know if this Benks Montage version is 600 or 1500D? If this is 1500D with less fingerprints and more grip I might be able to get over the ugly lettering, hell I won’t be looking it at anyway. Lol. I feel like the silver buttons and camera cutout go so well with my silver phone as well. Whereas the Summa goes more with the orange iPhone.

Edit: I’m probably misreading that saw some YouTube reviews and they say it has both 600 and 1500D. I wonder if it’s got more grip than the black Pitaka Ultra Guard 🤔
I personally don’t care for too much silver like silver buttons and silver camera cutout.
I prefer the contrast and subtlety of black.

The Black Summa works well with Orange of course as you said but I wouldn’t say it goes more with orange.

I think it looks awesome with Silver I personally would say it’s a cleaner look actually.

It looks great. What was your experience with buying this case? Was the first copy good, or did you need to go through more than one to find a clean copy?

That looks amazing. I do like that Benks as well, but yea on the Pitaka I def prefer the all black with silver. I was saying as far as a more grippy feel I’d prefer the orange Sunset as it’s that 1600D aramid and was told it’s a bit more grippy. I don’t like the orange Sunset with a silver phone though. Just seems off to me.

Unfortunately it had poor fitment around the CC button and power button exposing the silver frame.

It looks and feels great but it ended up being a return for me. The Pro version supposedly doesn’t have fitment issues.

I also tried the Sunset version and it was the same thing. That was enough case lottery for me. I’m good with the Edge.

The last Pitaka TPU/aramid hybrid case I had that fit properly was on my 15PM. It seems they’re better at pure aramid cases than hybrids.

Other than Aulumu and Phone Rebel does anyone know of any companies making “premium” sideless cases? I have a Grecazo on Amazon I kinda like but it just looks awfully cheap lol. I love the Aulumu but… the hunt continues? Phone Rebel sideless looks super THICK; well was in past?

Amazon one in question:

I know what you’re saying is true but I’ve looked at so many reviews and not once had somebody said the camera cutout popped off. Maybe it was in the early cycle? What’s at least good if I do go Benks is it has a 1 year warranty, it’s also cheaper. Pitaka on the other hand only does 2 months that’s pretty weak for an $80 case.

It’s pretty easy to see. The tight weave is 600D, the larger weave is 1500D. This is true regardless of brand or model.
Right on yea that makes sense. Though probably not much but if it has just slightly more grip and is less slippery that’s kind of a win for the Benks and has me circling back to it. Arghhh lol

I might have to just try out the Pitaka and Benks and return the worse fitting case. I just don’t like returning a bunch of stuff to Amazon I don’t feel right doing it. I could do Amazon gift card balance as a return too they are prob less likely to strike your account or complain about returns that way.

I'm using the green tech woven on my blue 17PM, and think it looks pretty good. Feels nice in hand and overall has held up quite well. Have had it since the phone released, and only recently noticed the bottom of the case around the charge port is bubbling/lifting. Besides that it looks fine. Don't have photos to add just now, I'll try to get some later.

Regardless of color, the hybrid TPU/aramid cases all have a smoother (and seemingly thicker) coating on the back that is slicker and shows more fingerprints than the 1500D pure aramid cases which have more surface texture.

I agree that ultimately you’ll have to just try some cases and see how they feel. That’s how you end up with 20 or more each year. 😂

Facts 🤣🤣😭

Gonna roll the dice on the Benks. 30 dollars cheaper. 5 grams lighter. And maybe just a tad less slippery. The fit that’s to be determined. Lol
