With all the excitement around here lately, I’ve been feeling a little FOMO. To fend that off, I bought a couple of cases for my 17PM that I’ve had my eye on for a while.
First up is the Torras Q3 Rugged. This is the simplified version of the Q3 Air Pro. In my opinion it’s only OK. The fit is good, but it weighs almost as much as the Pro (58g), while having less drop protection and lower build quality. It is grippier at the sides, but the overall feel and finish is not on par with the Pro, so it’s a hard pass for me. The main selling point is that it’s cheaper than the Pro. It’ll be going back to Amazon.
Next is the Aulumu A17 Aramid. This one is a different story (and a pleasant surprise). The build quality and fit are exceptional—arguably equal to or better than the Pitaka Edge, which is saying a lot. The comfort in hand is amazing; very close to a caseless feel, with all edges nicely smooth and rounded. The black/gray 1500D aramid is lightly textured with reasonable grip—I’d say it falls between the Pitaka 1500D and the heavily coated 600D on many hybrid aramid/TPU cases. A couple of downsides: it’s extremely difficult to remove, so it may not work for serial case swappers, and it weighs 28 grams, which is on the heavy side for this type of case. There’s also the aesthetics, which won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Overall though, one of my favorites and likely my #1 minimal case for this phone.

It’s so so to be 100% honest. Feels better than duneX and definitely no chance of it coming off but you can definitely feel some flex if you move it if that makes sense

Being a pure TPU case without any PC understructure, I’m not surprised it’s flexible.
