Day one with my phone, I've got a 6s 128GB. It's got TSMC. Battery life was bad but the phone is still settling in. Had a minor freeze but updated to beta and hasn't occurred since. Phone doesn't get very hot during pretty decent load. Overall, the device seems fine. If the battery life stays bad, that's okay. I can always charge it by wall or with a portable battery charger. I'm not returning it as I've got a perfect screen, body, etc. I'll upgrade next year again anyways. =)

I decided that I didn't care, but curiosity got the best of me.

128 GB 6S Plus (AT&T): Samsung

i didnt think i cared but what the hell.

TSMC.

6S 128gb

battery kinda sucks, par or worse than my 5S it replaced. had it a week and it's frozen 3 or 4 times forcing me to reboot.

Your complaint would have more validity if you were responsible for procuring 70,000,000 million or more parts within a year or less. You think procuring such volume of parts from only one source for all parts is possible?

Look, whether I'm dropping $950 on an iPhone or $3000 on a rMBP, you bet I'm going to make sure I'm getting the best parts! I wouldn't be complaining if I was buying $150 netbooks.

I'm actually having that too. Man. The screen is perfect, everything else seems fine. If I exchange it who knows what I could get. It's like gambling and I don't have a good poker face.

I really would hate to have to exchange this phone so early. My freezing isn't as bad as that guy who posted his videos on here of the device freezing constantly... Ugh...

Hearing lots of TSMC owners complaining about freezing too. Might also be a manufacturing defect in those chips. Take it back and get the cooler Samsung chip.

could also be my crazy iOS install. when i go to the apple store and they run a diagnostic on my phone they're like HOLY SH*T "your error list is 4x as long as the average customer!"

That was with my 5S - the genius recommended NOT restoring from iTunes because that is a 1:1 copy, and brings over all the errors. he said to restore from icloud. Which i did this time around.

Still freezes and has all kinds of little wonky errors.

i might just format the thing, start as new and sync my contacts/passwords etc. Cept i'll lose all my health data - had the apple watch since may...

You been trolling for 7 pages now

Unfortunately, for some of us, this freezing... It's actually happening.
I'm a little in shock. I have seen minor defects but never performance wise. I've noticed it won't freeze up if I have no apps open. I need to test this more with different apps in the background and see if I can cause the freeze predictably.

Edit: First app opened after closing all, minor freeze. After closing all apps, again minor freeze. This is a bit frustrating.

at work everyone can print with airprint except me - i get this "printer offline continue/cancel" error message. used like 3 different generation of iDevices... lol. Ironic that the guy who cares most about tech is the one who encounters all the problems.

Do a fresh install in iTunes , restore as new
If it keeps freezing get a replacement

Is there phone getting hot when the freezing occurs? I'm wondering if the thermal design of this new iPhone even allows for the hotter running 16nm TSMC chip.

I've never restored from backups. Habit back from my Android days. Always felt corrupt data would ruin my experience. Yeah, I'm not liking this but I think I'll stick it out and see if it gets worse. I need to be able to replicate it to an Apple specialist.

Even then, I run the risk of getting the same problem in a new device. That or getting something worse. Hmm....

Phone feels cool, no obvious or even subtle increase in heat prior to freezing. I'm feeling that almost appears like my processor is being throttled? I don't know how to explain this...

Could be why it's so cool then. It's getting throttled to keep the same temperature as the Samsung chip and its killing performance. They might come out with a fix for it in software but it might come at an energy cost.
