11 Pro. I prefer the light size. The 11 Pro Max is the heaviest iPhone at almost .5 lbs. Just too bulky to carry around. If they are able to make the 6.7" 12 Pro Max lighter, I may consider going back to the Max size.

Actually, I’d wager the battery life belongs to the iPhone 11 considerably. Sure, I’ll give you the screen ‘real estate’ for the Pro max, but I don’t think the battery life has anything more exceptional over the 11.

That wager would lose you money. There are tons of battery test videos on YouTube that all show the same result. The 11 lasts longer than the XS Max, the 11 Pro lasts longer than the 11 and the 11 Pro Max lasts considerably longer than the 11 Pro depending on the task.

Bolded:

You obviously contradicted yourself with your own keyword using ’depending’. Battery life is the most subjective factor in terms of any phone, as you said yourself it’s dependent on what you’re using it for, tasking, media, camera operations, ect.

Furthermore, in the same argument, there are plenty of other examples of the 11 trumping the Pro Max with battery usage, but then it reverts back to the original point, it’s entirely subjective on the usage.

Pro Max. Always had a plus with iPhones starting with the 6 plus. Could really not imagine down sizing. Battery life is amazing, came from a 7 plus that was good, but the pro max is ridiculous. Also, love the screen real estate. It’s true the screen size between the 7 plus and regular pro is not much with the almost elimination of bezels. Technically the pro is bigger at 5.8 vs 5.5. I guess I’m used to the size. Just my 2 cents worth. You can’t go wrong either way.

Do you have any of the examples of the 11 outlasting the pro max?

I chose the 11 pro because I like one handed texting and I wear skinny jeans so the Max is a bit too big for my pockets lol.

Yes. [FYI, I never use the word ‘outlasting’ at all, you just interjected that term, I just want to clarify that. ]

There are multitudes of examples. I mean, specifically what are you looking for in terms example(s), graphed diagnostics of battery usage with side-by-side comparisons using the same media/data? I’ve been involved in plenty of diagnostic threads with battery usage, and everyone will have varied results, but I suppose I could ask you the counter question, could you provide any examples of the 11 Pro outlasting the 11? (<— As in specific type use cases).

And you are obviously looking for attention. So, I’ll oblige since I’m bored. Just because it doesn’t last CONSIDERABLY longer than the 11 Pro in some tasks does not automatically mean shorter battery life than the 11 Pro. At no point did I say that. No contradiction. Get out from in between the lines, sit down and carry on, bud.

Go back and read your first post that you quoted me, then re-read what you just wrote now. Tell me that’s not contradictory in anyway whatsoever. But do you see where I’m getting at? You can sit there argue battery diagnostics all day long, you’re never going to have a mutual agreement based on someone else’s usage just because ‘You said so’. It’s completely variable on every aspect. Case in point.

I’m still bored; so, I’ll entertain this again. If B is faster than A and C is faster than B, no matter how you slice it C will be faster than A. Whether 1MPH or 100MPH, faster is faster.

If the 11 Pro has longer life than the 11 and the 11 Pro Max has longer life than the 11 Pro, no matter how you slice it the 11 Pro Max will have longer life than the 11. Whether it‘s 30 mins or 3 hours, longer is longer. As I said earlier, there are tons of YouTube videos that substantiate this—I’ve watched at least 9 videos showing the same result. XS—XS Max—11/XR—11 Pro—11 Pro Max.

If that’s not enough, feel free to use the compare tool on Apple.com. The only figure that is not higher for the 11 Pro over the 11 is the audio playback—65 hours each. That‘s not subjective. That is information directly from the manufacturer. It is what it is.

This is a solid post. And I don’t necessarily disagree with the Raw data that Apple claims, Various YouTube videos, etc. Now, anecdotal data is a totally different subject that has just as much credibility in a lot of ways, because of all the tweaks/settings that can be adjusted with battery life. There was a thread that I had discussion with another regular member, [which I can’t find, but will post here if I do] but we were having a similar discussion where he did mention he/she owned both iPhone 11/Pro-Max and he was achieving slightly better battery life with the 11.

On a sidenote:

And I realize this is an entirely relevant to the iPhone, but as a stainless Apple Watch owner, the Apple Watch is ready at ~18 hours, a lot of members can achieve well over that, and other members say that’s BS, when they can’t even exceed 18 hours. But with certain apps, settings and adjustments, I can achieve 24 hours, if not slightly better. So what’s my point? It goes back to the realm of what I said from the beginning, it really depends on how you use your phone and what for in terms of media/tasking/apps, etc. Just because of what Apple claims or a’ YouTube’ video, isnt indicative of everybody else’s experience in terms of what they achieve for battery life.

I was speaking from a raw numbers perspective. Any other position is debatable at best. The 11 Pro Max has the best results in, with respect to your posts, a controlled, “all things equal” (same brightness, same tasks, etc) environment. I agree that an individual’s personal usage patterns can impact what is perceived.

Case in point, a lot of people say the 11 Pro battery is phenomenal. I don’t think so. During the week I use Youtube for a couple hours a day, stream music for 4-7 hours when working and text/web browse all throughout the day. Phone comes off charger around 4:50a and can easily be @ 45% by noon. That doesn’t account for any COD Mobile game time. Yet, others state getting a full day or day and a half of usage. So, I’m with ya there.

If it were me, I would choose the regular 11 Pro, simply because of the smaller size made it easier to pocket. Considering it has the exact same hardware as the max (other than obviously the larger screen and larger battery), I won't miss anything feature-wise.

At the same time, during actual use, I do prefer tha Max as the larger screen just give me more screen real estate and usability. However, for me a phone also needs to be practical during transport, thus back to my original point.

That is my crux as well. When engaging the device I often wish I had that 6.5” screen and 3969mah battery, but I prefer the feel of the Pro much more in hand. Maybe the alleged future 6.1 11S/12 Pro will fix that issue.

When the phones came out I had an 11 pro max. A couple of weeks ago I lost the phone on the bus and replaced it with a standard 11. The 11 is the best size of all three in my opinion (I had a X and XS when those were released). I do miss the telephoto more than I though I would and I’ll be honest it’s been hard going back to LCD over OLED (even if Apple’s LCD’s are really great). I really hope the rumours about the 12 pro (or whatever they call it) being 6.1 inches pan out because if they could keep the screen size but thin out the bezels and slightly reduce the footprint of the device I’d be totally satisfied.

i agree that a 6.1" with the same footprint as the 11pro would be ideal. the current 6.1" 11 is large enough that it is a strain to operate one handed. that's the main reason i went with the 11pro. i think i could get used to the LCD, but i would definitely miss the telephoto lens. (i still find it odd that apple is calling the 52mm equivalent telephoto)

I got the iPhone 11. Last year I had the XS Max and it was a little large to use comfortably. I got a 128GB 11 for hardly more than the trade in of my 64GB XS Max so I was happy with that. Ive had it since September 20 and have liked it so far. I tend to upgrade every year so we’ll see how trade in holds up. I’m not expecting it to be as good as last time around.

11 Pro. It’s the perfect size for me. I have small hands so wouldn’t want a Pro Max because I’d probably drop it.

Went with the 11 Pro Max, Why? Well bigger screen and battery (which is awesome). Plus it's a social status and makes up for smaller things ;) I did buy a pocket socket to help with one handed use.

I ended up with the regular Pro

main reason was the price on contract was a lot more reasonable for me

big screen was a tough decision to make but I tried the Max and found I enjoyed the bigger display but disliked the heavier weight

since the regular pro had much better battery life than prior smaller versions, I just went with the regular model and I’ve been surprised and happy with it. Not as good as the Max but way, way better than the XS and X and every other iPhone except the 11 Pro max.
One handed use is much easier and has been important at times for my own use.

Again even though this is the smaller model, the battery life is Still amazing. Seeing it last more than the 11, XR and XS max as well as Note 10 and galaxy s10 plus sealed the deal that amazing battery life was no longer restricted to the largest model

though for me main reason of choosing over the max was the $$$ on my phone plan

I went with the Pro Max because I wanted to try a large phone with large battery. I miss the easier one handed use but I love the battery and beautiful large screen. Next iPhone will likely be the smaller model though.
