Are you saying a distinguished gentleman such as CapnJ@ckSparr0w is not to be trusted? 😉…if you don’t mind scurvy…
C'mon now, you're just "lion" about that. 😉OS X Lion. I'm not joking.
Actually I just read your signature... wow you do have 10.7 running on a 2012 MBP. Nice.OS X Lion. I'm not joking.
Sonoma is great too. Sequoia is fine too.Monterey 12.72. on my Macbook air M1 and mac mini m1
simply beacuse every release since this OS does not work as good.
Aperture was he bomb! I LOVED that app. There was nothing better. Hoping for Ternus to bring it back and put some focus on pros, not just hobby consumers.Mojave, because I'm using Adobe CS6, Aperture and iTunes.
I don’t really think any of those are an option on that ancient machineSonoma. I see no benefit on installing and running Sequoia and Tahoe will kill my Mac. Golden Gate is out of the question.
2009 Intel Mac Pro 5,1.
I still love Aperture! It's simply the best digital asset management software out there! Anything that is similar that might be put out now would likely be subscription-based and simply not worth the cost. I've been using Aperture since it was released in 2005. I am managing hundreds of thousands to millions of photographs in it. I would not want to pay monthly for this.Aperture was he bomb! I LOVED that app. There was nothing better. I'm using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) which allows you to install up to Sequoia on unsupported systems. I installed Sonoma in late 2024 (from Mojave) and that is where I have stayed. My Mac Pro is actually a 4,1 that I upgraded to a 5,1.I don’t really think any of those are an option on that ancient machine
So your most sensitive information is on your most easily stolen/lost device. My iPhone 11 Pro Max, running the 3rd dev beta of iOS 27, handles my banking apps - and anything else that may be sensitive.
You think I'm stupid and I don't have 2FA, FaceID (and a passphrase) and an authenticator app? And all that stuff activated on my apps/websites? As well as a backup device with an active line to where codes are sent? And backup devices where Apple security and my apps ask that I approve/deny access? So your most sensitive information is on your most easily stolen/lost device.
That's not the strategy I use.
And when the center of your digital universe goes missing how long will it take to recreate everything? You think I'm stupid and I don't have 2FA, FaceID (and a passphrase) and an authenticator app? Or do you just not trust Apple's security?

I'm not a put all your eggs in one basket person even if you do guard the basket very well.

Let's just say that my phone isn't outside of the house a lot. I will leave you to deduce what kind of lifestyle a loner married to another loner leads. And when the center of your digital universe goes missing how long will it take to recreate everything?

To be fair, I did mention that I access my banks' websites on my Mac Pro. But usually only if the app isn't working right on my phone. That's in a modern, up to date and secure browser though. And if I can't get in that way, then I'll call the number on the back of the card and deal with the automated system.Where did they say they only ever do banking on their phone?
