For those with questions with Gamestop here was my experience today.

I live in NH and here is what was offered to me by my local store:

I traded in a black iPad 3 64 gig wifi. Their computers are set up with set amounts based on model, size and condition. The guy rated mine as excellent as he could find no scratches or scrapes. That gave me a trade in of $340. The promo running is if you buy any used game you get an added 30% bonus. This gave me a total offer of $442

I bought the following:

There is a $1.00 Refurb service-recommerce fee
I bought a game for $6.99
$225 in Amazon GC (4@$50, 1@$25)
$100 in iTunes GC (2@$50)
$25 in Applebees GC
$20 in Starbuck GC
$75 in Taco Bell GC (5@$15)
Totaled $452.99- $442= $10.99 I paid.

The gift cards will be used as Christmas gifts and to buy some gifts on Amazon. I think it was a fair deal. I looked on Craig's List and I would not have gotten $442 for it. After fees with eBay and PayPal same thing. They had other gift cards available including Shell gas, Burger King and many online gaming cards. My hope is to get the new iPad Air on Friday.

Also I owned the iPad for 20 months and with what I got for trade in it comes out to be about $13 a month it cost me for that iPad which was well worth it considering I used it everyday :)

This isn't too bad. I have a Ipad 3 32GB wifi + XB360 Slim (50% extra) + PS3 (50% extra)...won't need them bc Xbox ONE is preordered and that has BR + a Nexus 7 that my son has...

I'm looking at about $800 TIV. I could get my son a pre-owned Gen 1 Mini for $250 and still have $550 in Amazon gift cards...hmmmm - decisions, decisions.

does gamestop offer the extra 30% every year or is this a one off year for such insane trade values?

still deciding if im going to trade, 1 gig of ram on the air is a bit of a bummer

I want to say it's around this time every year but don't quote me on that.

However the trade in and resale values of previous generation iPads and such will only go down from here so there's that to consider.

Perhaps you could trade it in, get an iPad Air or Retina Mini and do the same thing next year when the new iPads come out next year? That way your losses are smaller.

I just searched for iPads on the Amazon site and see that they sell them. No iPad Air listed yet.

It's third party sellers who sells the iPads, not Amazon themselves. It is very likely the iPad Air will be available for sale on Amazon shortly when it comes out via such sellers. However the problem is the markup they will put on the iPad Air, and especially the Retina Mini, since Amazon doesn't directly sell them as well as potential short supply when they are released.

Does anyone know how much value a 32 gb ipad 4 is in excellent condition after trade in store credit with the extra 30% in Amazon gift cards? Couldn't seem to find the info in this thread on my model.

Are you guys giving the charger/sync cable and original packaging also at gamestop?

Looks like with every day gone, gamestop is reducing the price by $10 on all models.

Worked perfect. Got $327 for an iPad 2 32gb Wi-Fi. $300 in Amazon GCs, $20 Starbucks and a used XBOX 360 game. Not bad considering I couldn't even find a buyer at $200 cash.

That's an awesome offer. I've had mine on CL and no takers at all. Looks like I'll be going this route. I just hope that Amazon will sell the iPad Air soon.

My 64 gig wifi iPad 4 is still the same price it's been all week.

That said, with my wife's computer coming in tomorrow which I'll be busy with, and with the new iPad launching Friday, I pretty much have to decide in the next s6-8 hours if I'm going to trade my iPad in, because I am sure the trade value will tank on Friday when the Air comes out.

went in and got $269 for the trade-in... had a dent in the corner that I forgot about.. oh well... still a good deal because I won it 2 years ago and spent $100 to get a higher gb iPad so still ahead.
