Someone recommended Mr Inbetween and it’s great. Very grim though at the end of season 2. Starting the 3rd season later today.

Still in love with BARRY, what a powerful show!

A bit bored of Succession although I really enjoyed that couple fight from the latest episode.

I just watched a 6-episode Korean series titled, Black Night. South Korean movie-makers are becoming second to none these days.

My wife and I started watching the DVD's of, "Strange New Worlds" (a prequel to Star Trek), but we don't like them at all. It seems that there was an extra emphasis on political correctness instead of science, exploration, and that sort.

Star Trek has been politically correct since the 1960s original series. Nothing is new, just better special effects.

Jack Ryan was an excellent series... except for the fact that it takes them over a year to release each season of what, 8 episodes? That's far too long for far too little.

TV production company results have been generally weaker in the streaming age which is partly the reason for the Writers' strike. I suspect that they're still experimenting to see what works financially. The days of a lot of TV shows with 20-24 episodes per year seem to be over. I assume that some still exist but overall season episodes seems to be declining.

I don’t mind that we don’t get 20-24 episodes a season, but anything less than 10 is really annoying.

Keifer Sutherland did an interview after Rabbit Hole finished and he said that he doesn't know whether or not there will be a second season. The ratings are closely held these days, probably by the streaming companies. Fewer episodes means fewer risks too - if something turns out to be a hit in 8-10 episodes, then they can do a second season.

Yeah, then the second season duplicates the number of episode in season 1.

That was me who recommended Mr InBetween. S2 e9 is real edge of your seat stuff

This show is a true ‘word of mouth ‘ hit and I’m surprised Fox / Disney haven’t really promoted it.

It’s also worth knowing that the main lead actor in this (who also wrote all the episodes) isn’t a trained actor and this is the only thing he’s done. The series Mr Inbetween is based on an amateur movie he did while at college (???) back in the 90s (?) called The Magician - you can find a copy on YouTube although I have yet to see it.

Another Australian show worth checking out is ‘Colin from Accounts’ which is available on BBC iPlayer in the uk

Btw I’m not a ‘fan’ of Aussie shows, I’m in the Uk who just happened to catch various people on social media and podcasts raving about these two and both are fantastic

Time to watch the last season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I admit I thought the first three seasons were the best and I wasn't as keen on the last season, but I'm still looking forward to how they will end it (and am glad they are choosing to end it rather than drag it on indefinitely--one of the benefits of streaming taking over television).

I've watched the first 5 episodes of season 5... so far, S5 is a bit meh... will wait for it to all be released and then binge the last 5 episodes... hopeful, but not extremely confident it will be worth the time investment to finish

I binged Slasher Season 5. Been waiting for this and was a little disappointed at first, then it got better and a roller coaster after that. It ended on the better side, but it was a little too slow for my taste. It's worth a watch and those who watched the other seasons will watch it anyway.

Also, Der Greif / The Gryphon. It's a german production and feels like one of those fantasy story children's books and that's exactly what it is. + a flashback to the 80s/90s. I really enjoyed it. It's not on the same level as Dark or 1899, but the six episodes were super fun to watch. Hope this gets a second season, highly recommended.

Watched Black Night on Netflix, pretty good, good effects and a story that’s not too bad. Now watching Fubar which is pretty good actually. Enjoyable story with a few giggles in it. I recommend it for sure.

Kind of enjoying FUBAR, if I’m honest. The father-daughter interplay is humorous.

Just finished Citadel’s 6 episodes…we thought it was quite well done, held our attention throughout, and wrapped everything up in some surprising and some not surprising ways. Very much looking forward to 2024’s Citadel: Diana that was teased at the end.
