This makes some sense as I can see light through the headphone jack on my 4.

This is just a step in the right direction of NOT having glass on the back. It was stupid to begin with, and this aesthetic consideration should give Jobs pause in future designs.

This cracks me up.. They are having so many ptential problems with making the white iPhone 4 but thats the only model they had @ WWDC?

Oh my, things were going so well since yesterday, all of the news from yesterday up until now were all about the Mac, now we're back to the frickin' iPhone crap. Damnit, MR just ruined my day.
Many AAPL shareholders are happy to hear news about iDevices.

If you want to know why, please refer to Apple's SEC filings. It involves tripping over large sacks of money strewn all over the place. :D

I bet its delayed because they are fixing all the issues. It will be probably when the 4 should of come out. It will be the one to buy.

Or...

Could it possibly be that Apple have more important things to deal with than the release of a white iPhone... OR that It's pointless releasing a device with hardware issues when a fix could pop up right around the corner....

Also, THIS!!!

After the iPad release, and before the Gizmodo pics, I was hoping the iPhone4 would have the same aluminum back and same edges as the iPad. Maybe this'll learn 'em to use glass.

What about adding an antenna to the device... wouldn't it be cool to kind of make a phone call with the thing???

I like that all of you are responding to this rumor as if it were fact. This guy got something right, once, two years ago.

If it gets me an opportunity to blast an issue that should've been solved a year ago, I'm going to do so. Every time.

Actually, I'm not. I just wanted to say something pointed.

Am I the only one who thinks this may actually look kinda cool with the white color?
No, you are not alone.

Personally, I prefer the black handset, however white is a very popular color for consumer electronics in many countries (some places in Europe, Japan for sure).

Note that Apple has sold many white iPods.

Apparently, the back light from the iPhone display screen is leaking out around the edges of the glass and seeping through the back of the white phone, according to a person familiar with the manufacturing process.

This doesn't make sense at all. If the light was leaking out around the edges then the black model would suffer from the same issues. It is not like the glass is going to be of different dimensions to the black model.

If you hold it the right way, your hand blocks you from seeing the leaking light and therefore it's a non-issue. Unfortunately, the way to hold it to block the light is how you're not supposed to hold it if you want any sort of reception, so you have to choose between the light leak or no signal ;)
