Problems seem to persist in the pre-ordering of iPhones that began on Tuesday.

Best Buy had actually accepted some pre-orders for White iPhones on Tuesday, June 15th. The White iPhone was otherwise unavailable at any other location. Apple has given no public explanation for the delay. Today, we received word from one such customer that they were called by Best Buy explaining that they won't be able to fulfill their White preorder. According to the Best Buy representative, a manufacturing delay is preventing availability of the White iPhone 4 on launch day.

Meanwhile, several readers are reporting that their iPhone 4 pre-orders from the online Apple Store has been canceled.
I ordered one 32GB for my line and my wife got a 16GB on the 15th. Both from Apple. Both were successful with order acknowledgments and temporary holds on the card. Today the 16GB order shows cancelled. No email, no call, nothing, just a cancellation on the order status page.
Several others have had similar issues, finding their orders canceled. Some of the cancelations are being blamed on not accepting AT&T's terms and conditions, but the situation remains muddy.

I wish AT&T (We don't have Verizon or T-Mobile here) offered decent Android phones, i'd be done with iPhones at this point. To not give ANY explanation for the white iPhones not being available is a joke. Especially considering they gave no hint that they may not be available when the iPhone 4 was released. And almost a week later, we still hear NOTHING from Apple on the white iPhone 4.

Nearly everyone I've talked to has had their pre-order cancelled, be it an AT&T or an Apple one. I wonder if they oversold the initial stock and are now having to backtrack?

This, combined with the white iPhone's unannounced delay, and the botched Best Buy/Radioshack pre-orders, is making for one interesting launch, that's for sure.

The look of some iPhone 4 buyers right now:

I reserved one for in store pickup and after I didn't think the order went through 6 hours later, I ordered one for delivery from Apple.com. My order is now missing when I check the status on Apple.com. WTF???

Luckily a day later, the email confirmation came through for the reservation, but the online order is now completely gone. It doesn't even show a status.

6/24 is going to be a disaster.

So what if some folks are going to have to stick with their iPhone 3GS for a little longer? Its just a phone. I'm sure most people with a 3GS just want the latest toy with a fruit logo on it.

Ridiculous! But honestly. People were foolish to believe Best Buy would have white iPhones when Apple and AT&T didnt have them available. I'm just saying. Nevertheless, I've been watching my inbox like a hawk. Anything could happen at this point.

Black iPhone orders are being canceled. Not just white ones.

are you surprised?

why the hell would best buy exclusively be selling the white phone?

Considering Apple gave ZERO warning to there not being any white iPhones at launch, how could the guy know the white wasn't selling when he went to pre-order? He couldn't have known because Apple clusterf#$( this entire launch.

Does anyone who has experienced this know whether their order ever stated that it was prepared for shipment? That information would be really helpful for those whose status did not change, as they would know that they should probably start thinking of a plan B if they want their phone at launch.

I am hoping the the ones that got cancelled on won't still have to pay. I am always paranoid of that.
