White iPhone 4 Slightly Thicker Than Black iPhone 4

The white bumper plus the white iPhone looks AMAZING

can you post some pics?

i totally agree.. i have been dreaming about this since last june! white on white looks so clean and bright.. wish i could take pics with my 2G, but i have no wifi at work

back to the topic.. has anyone tried the white iphone with the incase snap case? i've heard the snap case is quite tight and i'm a bit concerned the extra .2 mm will be a problem. i'm buying it for my sister and want to make sure it will fit.

(actually, i thought it was a hard plastic case when i bought it at the store, but googling a bit suggests that it is silicon and should probably stretch?)

No difference

Just compared my white iP4 with a coworker's black iP4. No noticable difference at all after putting them both on a flat surface. We even got out a ruler. If there's a difference, I can't tell.

People should really read the small print!!

Hint: 1.

1. Actual size and weight vary by configuration and manufacturing process.
2. All battery claims depend on network configuration and many other factors; actual results will vary. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced by an Apple service provider. See www.apple.com/uk/batteries for more information. For more details of iPhone performance tests for talk time, standby time, Internet use over 3G, Internet use over Wi-Fi, video playback and audio playback, see www.apple.com/uk/iphone/battery.html.
3. 1GB = 1 billion bytes; actual formatted capacity less.
4. Based on testing conducted by an independent laboratory following the ANSI standard C633.19, "American National Standard for Methods of Measurement of Compatibility between Wireless Communications Devices and Hearing Aids."

Do you count your McDonalds French fries every time you chow down?:D
You should actually measure overall length and mass, instead. That's what I do. Sure, it's an extra drain on the car's electrical system to have all these devices in the car, and my kids have to ride with someone else, but now I'm sure I'm not getting ripped off. And it's kinda funny to see a 17 year old try to cope with my demand for 5.76g more of fries.

Don't even get me started on the OJ!

Sad

First you complain that you had to wait for the white version, then you complain that you can't cover it up with your case. Why not just get a white case and shut the hell up?

First, the volume switch issue, then this. I feel sorry for case manufacturers. What a nightmare.

yeah. i mean c'mon -- a market of millions upon millions of iphone customers willing to plonk down 30 bucks for a cheap plastic case. what a grueling business!

The variability in mass and volume is statistical only and within a certain tolerance. If a case is a little tight for a particular phone, warm it up with the hair dryer to get it on. It might make it more flexible.

It's only something that would be an issue if you have a snug case, but it's there:

seriously?

This is just sad.....just kidding what else is there to life if my iphone cant be .002 inches thinner? puke.

A New Trend

Maybe Apple is going to start making its devices thicker with more stuff in them, or at least they're using heaver and more durable electrons.

can anyone explain me

what is this little line up close to the front camera on the white iphone???

From my experience today at the Apple store, held both the black and white and you can't feel the additional 0.02 or whatever it is. White looks awesome though IMO.

I was at the Apple store today and I decided to compare the thickness of the two iPhones. Here's a pic. They are upside down, so the back part is on the top:

I had a friend suggest that The size difference is because the white iPhone is using the iPhone 5s body. Interesting idea...

I doubt I'd go that far with speculation. It seems that any/all thickness increase comes from the back panel only. In almost every pic, that's the only part that seems increased in size...the other points such as the antenna band usually line up perfectly. So I'd say it's probably due to the added thickness Apple had to make it (the back panel) to keep the LED flash from bleeding through during photos. I have an aftermarket white, and also a yellow backplate, and when the flash is on, almost the entire back panel lights up because of bleed through.
