Again, only a color difference. Same hardware, same design.
Yeah, that's true.

Look at Sleazy's post again. He talks about it not being available until August. The very last day of July is still July. Also reread Apple's statement. iPhone 4 will be AVAILABLE (not a preorder) in July.
And the iPad was gana come out in march.
The fact is, they're still different in that regard: the metallic strip.
There is no metallic strip, it is just holes. It's the artificial "reflection" Apple puts on all of their gallery pictures that makes it look metallic.
Looks tacky IMO.
OH....so you've actually seen one?
I mean in person...not pics?
While I disagree with it looking tacky, your argument makes no sense. Does that mean we can't properly form an opinion on which color we prefer without seeing it in person? Sure, there's definitely something to be said for seeing a phone in person rather than just pictures, but there are plenty of hands-on pictures (including white) of the iPhone 4 for us to make our own opinions. Come on.
Actually no. What shows dirt easier? A black car or a white car? Dirt/dust and fingerprints will show more on a black one.
And my opinion is that I don't see how someone can say something "LOOKS" something when they haven't actually even seen one with their own eyes! How many times have you ordered something off the web and then when you actually get it, it *looks* totally different?
That's my opinion.
What black/white cars have you seen? White would show dirt and grime easier then black. Fingerprints I'd agree though.

So you have waited to see the iPhone in person before purchasing?
Yes I have actually, I was hoping to see one at least on display at the Apple store but of course they do not have any. I will not order one until I can see one with my very own eyes and then I will decide on black or white but I will definately still get one. I just don't know which one yet.

The pics in case of the white phone changed my mind in preference. Since a case is mandatory for my iphone I went ahead and bought the black.
I certainly will go check out the white phone when it comes out. It would have to blow my mind for me to exchange the phone I have for it. Since I just exchanged a spotty phone yesterday I have 30 days from yesterday rather than launch (apple confirmed this). I have no bones about swapping the phone based on preference alone. After all, Apple DID say they would be available on the 24th.
Like I said, it would take quite the impression for me to go through the little bit of paperwork to make it happen. I would say the odds are 1 in 50.

Looks tacky IMO.
Ummm WHY is it that you all wait to get an iPhone 4?? I right now have a 4 in black and sometime between the 13 or 14 am ganja walk right in to AT&T return it, get the 2 year commitment taken off my line and wait about a week if it's that long or so to get my white 32 gig white 4. Soo yeah you all that are waiting could of simple ordered or waited in line, used a black one and the do the same as I. And to all of this who think I'm a Dick for doing this guess what? I don't give 3 ***** because in the very end I get what I want without having to sacrifice 2 months with a graph ass phone. So yeah be smart next year if the same thing happens guys.
iPhone4life
yeah I heard that as well at the store I bought from. However unless AT&T and Apple make me sign something stating other than what their current policy says, in writing, you can.Apple isn't allowing "exchanges". Employees mentioned "all sales were final" on launch day.
Some of us actually have morals. *gasp*
