And the iPad was gana come out in march.

They also announced the iPhone 4 for pre orders on the 15th and release on the 24th. What's your point?

They called the iPad late march release 2 months ahead of time, not 2 weeks. Little bit of a difference. To call a release 2 weeks ahead of time they must have already started manufacturing them. Look at the black iPhone 4, some have manufacture dates in May!

OH....so you've actually seen one?
I mean in person...not pics?

While I disagree with it looking tacky, your argument makes no sense. Does that mean we can't properly form an opinion on which color we prefer without seeing it in person? Sure, there's definitely something to be said for seeing a phone in person rather than just pictures, but there are plenty of hands-on pictures (including white) of the iPhone 4 for us to make our own opinions. Come on.

And my opinion is that I don't see how someone can say something "LOOKS" something when they haven't actually even seen one with their own eyes! How many times have you ordered something off the web and then when you actually get it, it *looks* totally different?
That's my opinion.

Actually no. What shows dirt easier? A black car or a white car? Dirt/dust and fingerprints will show more on a black one.

What black/white cars have you seen? White would show dirt and grime easier then black. Fingerprints I'd agree though.

So you have waited to see the iPhone in person before purchasing?

Err, no. I live in arizona (dirt everywhere) and there are more white cars just for this specific reason. It's much easier to see dirt on a black car than white. Just a fact.

There is glass over the white. Dirt may show up more but it'll be easily wipeable.

Yes I have actually, I was hoping to see one at least on display at the Apple store but of course they do not have any. I will not order one until I can see one with my very own eyes and then I will decide on black or white but I will definately still get one. I just don't know which one yet.

The pics in case of the white phone changed my mind in preference. Since a case is mandatory for my iphone I went ahead and bought the black.

I certainly will go check out the white phone when it comes out. It would have to blow my mind for me to exchange the phone I have for it. Since I just exchanged a spotty phone yesterday I have 30 days from yesterday rather than launch (apple confirmed this). I have no bones about swapping the phone based on preference alone. After all, Apple DID say they would be available on the 24th.

Like I said, it would take quite the impression for me to go through the little bit of paperwork to make it happen. I would say the odds are 1 in 50.

Black cars are dirtier than white cars. cased cars, i mean phones, are cleaner than naked phones

Then I seriously commend you. :) I can't do that... and I personally think seeing the pictures is more than enough to decide a color or whether I like it or not. That's just me though.

Good job man. That's something I can't do!

Apple isn't allowing "exchanges". Employees mentioned "all sales were final" on launch day.

Ummm WHY is it that you all wait to get an iPhone 4?? I right now have a 4 in black and sometime between the 13 or 14 am ganja walk right in to AT&T return it, get the 2 year commitment taken off my line and wait about a week if it's that long or so to get my white 32 gig white 4. Soo yeah you all that are waiting could of simple ordered or waited in line, used a black one and the do the same as I. And to all of this who think I'm a Dick for doing this guess what? I don't give 3 ***** because in the very end I get what I want without having to sacrifice 2 months with a graph ass phone. So yeah be smart next year if the same thing happens guys.

Looks tacky IMO.

May not look as "classy" as the black but White defo looks fresher and newer, plus it will look sweet next to my MB Air:)

B/S to the peeps that keep saying White shows more dirt and will go yellow over time.
My White 3Gs is still pure White and never looks dirty. Plus the i4 is encased in glass so dirt marks are very easily wiped away, if anything fingerprints and grease marks from the face will show up more on a black iPhone.

I guess alot of black iPhone users are trying to convince themselves that they made the right choice in not waiting for the more desirable WHITE :D

Some of us actually have morals. *gasp*

I'm also waiting for the white. I had a dream that I got it though and it was freakish looking lol. I like the pics from engadget. :) I hope it comes out soon!

yeah I heard that as well at the store I bought from. However unless AT&T and Apple make me sign something stating other than what their current policy says, in writing, you can.

My guess, validated by the lack of singing anything, is that was said to stop people from doing it. But like I said, both ATT and Apple's policy says you can return the product for any reason you like.

While I think the poster whom you replied to could use an English lesson or two, Apple re-nigged on the release date of the white phone.

Not allowing users to see both products at the time of their purchase opens the door for consumers to change their mind. I will check the white phone out, hands on, when it arrives. If that so happens to be within 30 days from yesterday (got my yellow phone replaced), AND it knocks my socks off, I might do the same.

Changing your mind after not being able to have both products on the market when they were initially supposed to be isn't a moral issue. At least not for this buddhist.
