White or Black

Black, because white simply looks tacky and gets dirty very easily.

Plus Black looks infinitely better docked next to a Mac.

Black...white just provides too much contrast when watching movies or other types of media consumption, for me personally.

It seems that everyone has their own reasons for the color they chose. I went with white because I liked the white one and my iPhone 4S is white. I played with it in the store and it wasn't an issue. Personal preferences are different from individual to individual.

I'm sure I will notice the white background when I watch movies but movies aren't the only thing you can do with an iPAD. Why is everyone making it such a big deal? I highly doubt that I'll stop watching a movie because I notice the borders...I mean I'm holding the device in my hand. Plus IMO the white looks more slick. I certainly am not going to run out and exchange my pre-oredered white iPAD for a black one that is probably not going to be in stock for awhile anyway. Make a decision and stick with it. Simple. An iPAD is an iPAD, enjoy yours because no matter what the color, both are awesome :apple:devices.:D

White. Never been "distracted" by the white bezel; works great for apps, web and viewing media.

I've always loved the white iPad. I owned the iPad 1 but not 2.

So when the Apple Store opened after the media event, I went straight for the white one.

12 hours and a good sleep later, I called Apple to change my order to black.

I did some research and compared pictures. And after changing my order, I went to the nearest mall to check out both colours and I'm glad I made the switch.

I figured, I love the white one because it's aesthetically beautiful. But I'll probably get sick of it in a month. Practically, the black one is the way to go. As many articles on tech blogs stated, there's a reason why televisions have black frames.

I'll probably envy those with the white iPad whenever I see them on the street, but I rather be envious than having buyer's remorse.

Anyway, during my research, these are the 2 pictures that sealed the deal for me.

IMO the screen stands out better and looks better in white, rather than blending in. Plus all the other tablets are black, white is more appealing to the eye IMO. It's similar to watching movies on my MBA...the borders are silver and also stand out..but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I went white, I have not had any problems with my white iPad2 or iPhone 4S, and frankly, it doesn't distract me.

But, I will see how I go, will test it for a week, if it is a big deal for me, will see if Apple will let me exchange my white for a black, but I like my White iPad2 with the red smart cover, it looks sexy.

I went for white, mainly because when I get rid of my white macbook later this year (when the new MBPs come out) I still need a white Apple gadget in my life! My 4S is black and no doubt the new MBP will be black/silver too.

I'd already decided upon black for different reasons, and always thought the white would be better for videos etc.

Those two images have changed my mind completely though.

If I looked at that white one any longer I'd end up with a migraine!

My "test run" of owning an iPad was with a white iPad 2. I like white because it's "different" but to be honest it didn't feel like an Apple product for whatever reason. I think white works better on the iPhone TBH. Got a black, hopefully I like it.

I pretty much immediately went for white. My phone is a white Galaxy S2 and I think it's gorgeous, plus fingerprints show up far less on the white bezel. I could see going with black if I was planning on watching movies on it frequently, but since I have netflix and a USB jack on my TV, I usually use it to watch things instead. As someone who mostly uses a tablet to read or browse the web, the white made more sense. My current Android tablet has a black bezel and the sudden division between bezel and whatever I'm reading throws me a bit. Probably because for the last five years I've done most of my reading on a matte macbook pro which has a silver bezel.

I keep my iPad on a stand on my dresser, and anything other than black would kill the black/silver theme. :p

Just couldn't get into the white one for some reason regardless.

My first iPad was black, my second one was black and although I actually wanted to try a white iPad, I went for a new black iPad. I saw the new iPad on Apples pictures and yes It looked very nice to me but as I saw it real life I decided to go for a black iPad again. Watching videos is better on a black framed device and I think that the black frame matches better to all other black details (buttons and :apple: logo on the back).

White for def, watch movies on my iPad all the time and have never been distracted by the bezel. Love how it doesn't attract fingerprints as much.

Black. I was so undecided I let the guy at Best Buy make up my mind. I like it except for the fingerprints, but when Im focused on the screen I don't notice that.

Went with black, the white one "frames" the screen too much if that makes sense, despite my preference for a white iphone. If I could actually decide what came out, I'd make the border with an aluminum finish, like my AG Macbook Pro

white - always had black with 1 and 2 - I see no distraction or light bleed or whatever everybody seems to be seeing.

I like it...

Yeah I'm reconsidering buying the iPad "3" only to upgrade to the 32 or 64gb model. If I do, I'll most likely be getting the black. Like I said, the white is great, but personally I got it out of my system and my next iPad will be black. However, I did buy the iPhone 4s and got that in white and I love it. I think the white iPad would look a lot better if the back (or even the apple logo on the back) was also white. :)

Yeah, it makes more sense (to me at least) that there would be more of a light bleed on the black iPad over the white. But still, I haven't had any trouble so it's alright :)

Sorry, I just was curious to see what people got and their opinion why. Like someone else stated, you didn't NEED to click on the link. Sorry though, I can see your point too; some threads piss me off too haha.

I agree completely. The black is just so much better for watching videos.
