Proud owner of an iPad 2 here to confess that I dropped $100 (technically $90) for a TouchPad. Why not? I'm a gadget geek so it should be fun to play around with a non iPad tablet for once. I played with a Galaxy Tab at BestBuy and was confused as hell as how to even get to the internet browser. WebOS seems a lot more simple so I'm excited to test it out!

We should all boycott the iPad 3 and get Apple to put the iPad 3 on sale for $100 :p

Where did you see that price? I looked briefly on best buy but they're not even selling the touchpad anymore, and amazon still has it for the old price.

I'm on the fence about getting one. I feel like it's a bad idea in the long run, but in the short term it's a tablet for $100, and it'll hold me over until I can get a Windows 8 tablet.

Applied the code save15hp for another 15% off and put in an order for a 16gb that came out to $90 after tax and free shipping. If you don't have an .edu email address (they didn't send me a verification email so maybe you don't need one) and this seems like too much work, I read that the $100 price will be at all retailers soon enough.

And 16 GB appear to be out of stock now.

They're going FAST. HP and Amazon (through Target) are sold out.
There are a bunch of other TouchPad retailers so anyone that missed out should check them out in the coming days (Best Buy, Staples, Microcenter, etc).

WOW! These things are selling like CRAZYYY!

I'm getting more than one. They are going to port it over to Android!!!!

Your link brought me to the page that starts with the comment "But you can use to to browse the internet or look at porn when your sitting on the toilet".
Lol, so true. I bought one for every bathroom in the house.

When I went to HP's website it was still $499.

Everywhere I look still shows the original prices! I'd order one right now if I could find it for $149. Guess I'll try BB in the morning.

Got 1 16GB for 85 shipped (no tax in DE). Should carry me over until ipad 3 and then I'll pass it on.

Hopefully since they just sold a buttload someone will be nice and port over android (if I understand correctly ios is pretty much impossible). I've heard good things about webOS and the price was too good to pass up.

The only problem is that many people aren't getting confirmation emails after they order. I've heard that some of these people have called hp who told them not to worry. I really hope hp doesn't switch on us.

better be careful. i was looking on engadgets comments on the post. best buy and no store is price matching and some people said hp reps are saying that hp is taking back the discount. then some people also said that hp is introducing the sale for everyone tomorrow at 7 am est. all this is coming from what people have experienced with HP and other stores so I just wanted to help you guys out.

everything is such a mess right now but $100 is a steal if its all true. :D

EDIT: now some people are saying HP won't honor the order if you used the save15hp coupon code. i wish someone would make sense of this hahahaha

Apparently HP may not be honoring these orders that were placed because they were before the "official" start of the sale. Getting up early and hitting up wally world, then staples, then off to best buy. 16gb are going for $200-$250 on ebay so a $100 profit after fees is not bad.
