I don't know. I may let other people give their early adopter reports first, so I know what I'm risking in trading a pretty flawless 6SPlus that could easily serve me well for a few more years. However, the draw for me is always improvements in the camera so I guess I'll make a decision when the final specs are out. If that rumored blue turns out to be a gorgeous and popular color it may be necessary to jump on the preorder bandwagons if I want it, too. It was a ridiculously long wait for me to get an SE in any color. Apple supplies of new products are very unreliable and unpredictable these days.

I have no intentions to upgrade this year,
And I won't be updating my 6s above iOS 9.x.x neither, iPhones seem to work best with the firmware they are optimized to work with and I have learned my lesson over the years... That's my opinion however, and if anyone disagrees that's okay

I had a great experience getting an iPhone 4 on DAY 1. My personal favorite launch day ever. Less of a badtrip than trying to pickup a PS3 on launch day in Nov 2006.

But while I did have a pleasant experience on 6-24-2010 for iPhone 4 launch day, it really isn't a big deal to me to be one of the first to get an iPhone. You are paying more to get it early which also could be plagued with problems and software bugs. Just wait it out until November to find a good Black Friday deal on it and you can save alot more money. And wait for the first batch to get weeded out with problems that gets labeled with -gate.

The true quality of any phone starts to show itself months later after you use it. Early adopters who enjoy rekindling that honeymoon phase with any new shiny toy should be used as guinea pigs for the value seekers.

A lot of the time it's actually true for the minor bumps too. 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 etc. When I first bought my iPhone 7 performance was never as good as 7.0.1-3. The only issue was there were literally scaling issues with 7.0 upon release, and 7.1 fixed all the bugs, so it was a very necessary update. The same was true for 8.0 vs 8.2, the .2 hurt the same year's device in terms of performance. Not by a grand scale, but very noticeable to someone who see's that stuff.

I'm going to wait to see what the new phone offers but I'm leaning towards upgrading since I'm on the iPhone Upgrade Program and it won't cost me more to do so.

Depending on how android wear stacks up against the next Apple Watch I my spring for the next Samsung note.

if I get fired up enough after the keynote , I'd hold out for the initial reviews then take the plunge. Naturally I would'nt jump on the first batch wagon ; they tend to have all manner of bugs

Morning people :)
Been a long time since my last posting so thought I'd revisit .
Re this thread : well of course I'll be getting the next iteration of handset , I've queued for every one since the 5 and I'll be looking forward to seeing some familiar faces again this year in Birmingham.
After last years success with the 6s+Rg128 I'm curious to see what the new model offers in terms of hardware ( ram & mem) & camera tech .
All the best

As we all are. :)

For me , it all depends on apples improvement on the camera. If it's the same, only 12mp at f/2.2, then I'll be getting an android (Galaxy note 6/7) if their camera is better. I mean, Apple has been so far behind on the camera and optics, it's not even funny. It took them 4 years to get away from 8mp...really? They say the plus model will have a dual lens camera, then they say the option has been scrapped due to technical difficulties. So who knows. I'll be looking at both phones and then decide.
If you are so concerned about the camera, why not just buy a real camera? A phone camera will never compete with what you can do with a real camera.

Well that somewhat depends on the user I guess , I mean how much does a standalone 4K recorder cost , then a 12mp camera , then storage , and so on , the argument for a mobile with a good camera is swayed by the functionality of a mobile and the technology is improving now to becoming on par with some digital slr's but at a price point .

Me right now

"I'll be getting the 7 day one.

Maybe

No. No I think I'll wait

Might just get a 6S Plus

Nope. I'll get the 7

But what if it's just a 6SE. In that case, get the cheaper 6S Plus

Might as well just get a 6S Plus now then? YESSSS!

No, that's stupid, because you know you'll want the 7 even if it is a 6SE

But in 12 months I'll want the amazing OLED iPhone 8 and I'll be stuck with a 6S Plus or a 7/6SE

so keep the iPhone 6 then

But I'm bored of the 6, even with iOS10

Get the 7 then... yeah ... I'll get the 7

But what if ...."

continue until death

I used to get excited. Yeah yeah. I always say that. But the 6 plus was very laggy for me so I was glad to dump it and get the 6S plus when it launched. (I have gotten every iPhone basically 1st day (give or take a week from launch).

But 2016 will be different. I am fairly content with my 6S Plus (plus I have a galaxy s7 which is fantastic as well).

Unless something blows me out of the water (thinner design, higher resolution, faster charging etc). I will not get the iPhone 7 at launch. I may wait for that $300 Costco/SAMs gift card att next type of sale they had for the iPhone back in November 2015. I want that type of promo.

With the end of subsidies for us grandfathered att unlimited data users. It's best to shop around and wait for sales.

I got the s7 with a $200 Best Buy gift card promo in April 3-4 weeks after the s7 launch. So I am gonna to be wiser and wait a little bit for other retail channels to have promo for iPhones.

Managed to get my daughter an ip5s 16gb on tarrif inc free handset for £2 per month :)
500 min talk , 500m/b data & unlimited texts :) friggin bonus

If all the leaks are true and the most notable new features are a removed headphone jack (which seems awful) and a better camera, then this will be the first year since the original iPhone that I do not upgrade.

Nah, honestly for what I do, can't see me going back. Unless the next iPhone has some killer feature that hasn't been leaked, I'll holdout for the 2017 iPhone.
I'm back! Lol, only because he S7 had a defective power button and they didn't have any more in stock soooo I'm back! Just going to keep my iPhone.
