I guess I don't see why I wouldn't get a new iPhone every year. If I accept that I'm never going to keep a phone longer than two years, then the $45 monthly cost for, say, the Apple iPhone upgrade program makes it an easy decision.

I get you're paying the tax each year, and you could obv get a little better deal by selling third party, but $45 a month is an acceptable cost to me to have the latest iPhone hassle-free all the time.

For me at least, it's just easier and simpler to pay the monthly cost and be done with it.

I still have a 6plus thats going strong, it seems that the 2017 Iphone will be the one to receive a new design and improvements, maybe something i've been waiting for an OLED screen so I'm going to wait and skip a year I think

I have 6S+ and will get the new model. I have two other iPhones on my account , My son and daughter in law. They get my older phones..My son has my old 6+ and daughter has 5S..

It depends what Apple announce come September.

If the Plus size model drops the headphone jack (but retains it on the 4.7" variant) then I'll likely downgrade despite preferring the larger screen estate.

Hopefully I'll be off work to pre-order from Apple. Decided to go direct this year and switch to a SIMO tariff when my minimum agreement ends in November.

Is the first time I have not been looking forward to the release. I have a six and I think I'm just going to keep it. It works great and the cameras is fantastic.
But knowing me I may get it
I'm at the same situation right now. Unless there's some killer feature in the next version, I'm holding on to my 6.

I will. Got a 6 now and will be upgrading. Whether a 7 or 7 plus is going to be driven by the camera options, that is a big motivator for my upgrade.

I have a 6S on the Upgrade program. I also just recently bought a SE outright as a backup phone (it's only $15/month for the extra line on my plan). I'm thinking of trading the the 6S for the 7+ and switching back and fourth between it and the SE depending on what I'm doing that day. My iPad Air 2 will get demoted to a in-home device only and cancel the cellular service ($10/month). In 2017, when the more compelling iPhone will be out, I'll probably upgrade the SE (give it to my daughter for her first phone). Yea, I have a sickness..

I was worried about you until your last sentence. Self awareness is good. :)

Looks like I am leaning towards an iPhone 7 if it looks anything to the photo above. Want to fulfill a prophecy I told myself six years ago. Hooray for removing the physical home button. Nomore unresponsive buttons from the dirt and grime. No need to turn on that annoying Assistive Touch.

Water resistant, wireless charging, and 32gb base model when I plan to store mostly my photos and music which eats up only 10gb. Videos can be as large as 100 GB to 500 GB if I plan to re-download everything I had from my lost 500 GB external hard drive.

But on launch day? Nah. Wait out at whatever -gate issues come out of it. It really doesn't make a difference to me getting one on release day vs two months later except the latter time could be out of stock or discounted. No smartphone during the last six years has ever excited me that much to get one on launch day.

I get more excited when I get them at a great price than early. Everyone will eventually get one. Early bird stuff don't mean much to me anymore. What ego trip am I fulfilling by being first to own one? Probably by early November I will pick one up if they are in stock.

I really Apple doesn't copy the s7 design. I want my iPhone to look like an iPhone not like a Samsung phone.

I like the physical home button also. That being said Apple will do what Apple will do.

For the first time I may preorder one...I normally wait. It might be a blast to b the first in my block to have one. The question is, go pro or go home?

Without a hesitation it's a yes from me. I am certain these new iPhones are going to exceed everyones expectations, the only challenge will be securing one on launch day. I think people are massively underestimating demand.

I couldn't agree more, I think people are underestimating the iPhone 7 because of the leaked features we have seen so far. But for one example I don't think people realise how great the dual camera feature will be, I'm sure Apple will find a way to put their spin on it.

Yep Tim Cook has hinted there's going to be some very compelling features. I don't think we'll be disappointed. In fact, I think the only people who will be disappointed are those who are thinking they'll be able to resist upgrading to the latest and greatest iPhones later this year. ;)

Even if it's not a massive upgrade in terms of design. I still think it will be worth it for those of us who have the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, especially on the camera front. They may even have a surprise up their sleeves for September, no one knows except Apple ;)

+Justin+Wagoner+was+already+camping+

^ He might.

Waiting for Justin Wagoner to post here again since gained some fame back in June 2010 for camping out a week before the iPhone 4 was released. When I first registered here, I remember posters clowning on Justin for that.

Not me though. Tried the camping out for PS3 nonsense back in November 2006 and came away with nothing. I already hate the Black Friday madness. My anticipation level for iPhone 7 is about a 5/10 now. Maybe a lukewarm 7 once announced and released. I was actually more excited about Star Wars 7 last December and the recent NBA Finals Game 7 than I'm with another iPhone release.

I think it's going to be very interesting to see which of the rumours are true, there have been so many different rumours for the iPhone 7 that it seems difficult to tell which ones are real and which ones are not.

Waterproof? No home button? Dual camera (leaked pictures almost confirm it) same design but moved antenna lines? no headphone jack? a space black colour option? are just some of the rumours that have been going around
People seem disappointed that Apple may be sticking with the same design, even if it is going to be tweaked a little. This doesn't bother me, i like the current design as it is. What will be great is if the dual camera rumour is true for the iPhone 7 Plus, i think that could be a killer feature.
