I usually wait a month or so to make sure the bugs are worked out. The 5S with its 64bit processor was a mess for awhile (for example).

Plus I like to see what actual users of the device have to say. ALSO I want to walk right into the Apple Store and out without worrying about stock and lines.

I think if you pre order you can get rid off all of your issues and also have a month to try out and return.

Yes, at least here in the UK.

It took me a minute to realize why I don't do that. Here in the States sales tax varies per State. I'm a 30 minute drive from a sales tax free state so I drive to that states (Delaware) Apple Store and save 50 bucks. Unfortunately I can't do that online because if there is a brick and mortar store in the state you reside in then tax applies (6%). Real miser-esque of me but whatever. Lol

Water resistant, wireless charging, and 32gb base model when I plan to store mostly my photos and music which eats up only 10gb. Videos can be as large as 100 GB to 500 GB if I plan to re-download everything I had from my lost 500 GB external hard drive.

It won't have wireless charging though, that's for next year's model - when they switch to a glass chassis again.

Never understood getting the first day release of the newest iPhone. Whatever day it's released is the day many folks get it. Kind of forces them to buy it when Apple tells them to buy it..

It's not like the newest iphone won't be available when I'm ready to buy it a month or 3 months later or hell even 9 months.. plus later production of the newest device seems to be better.

A less likely defective phone is the better phone. And spending all that time waiting in line seems like time wasted unless you have nothing better to do than wait in a huge line for a phone that's going to be available anyway.

Never understood it...

Maybe I am super lucky but I have always bought the newest iPhone on release day or during pre order- starting with the iPhone 4.

Iphone 4, 4s, 5 , 5s, 6 plus and 6s plus - 7 phones - Never had A BUGGY experience or one defective phone yet.

I even bought an Sprint HTC Evo years back off CL before it was released to the public that was flawless

Without a hesitation it's a yes from me. I am certain these new iPhones are going to exceed everyones expectations, the only challenge will be securing one on launch day. I think people are massively underestimating demand.
Well that wouldn't be hard now would it, thinner and you have lost the headphone jack. Erm the end. Not hard to exceed those sort of expectations now is it..

It depends on if you have low expectations or high expectations. Somehow I think the poster was referring to the latter, but there are some with a low bar round here...

I am getting an iPhone 7 on Day 1.Mostly because my iPhone 6 is laggy thanks to Apple'a planned obsolescence policy

I will. For no other reasons other than I want to, and because I can. Sure my 6S runs great. But since I have disposable income and my phone is my favorite materialistic possession as it is typically always with me, then I see no reason not to get the new one no matter how major, or minor, the upgrades. Been this way since the 3G.

I used to be like you even until a couple of years ago but I spend my entire day around devices. The novelty wears off.

Going to pass on this years device, there's nothing that has leaked about it to peak my interest. NOW.. if they magically announce that this has the new screen technology.. then yes I'll buy it. Considering the rumors indicate thats coming next year.. I would rather wait and snag that one. Though if I get a good price on a used new device I'll get it. But to preorder this time.. nope.

No lineups last year since it was released in mainland China as well unlike previous years. The 6s availability was so high here that scalping was a no go where I live last year.

more than likely I will. I will only have to pay 39 to "upgrade" If I don't upgrade I continue to make payments through Verizon and if I do upgrade I make the same payments so no reason why I shouldn't.

I was a launch day customer for the 4, 5 and 6 and had a problem with every single one of them. I'm off that train for good...

Definitely going to upgrade. Currently in the Apple upgrade program anyway so looking forward to it.

Are you sure about the lag? I'm on a 6 and it works like a champ.
