THAT... is a good question. I'm thinking there's a hardware ID that is synced with the user's AppleID.I was wondering how does WatchOS determine it is a Hermes edition.. Does the watch itself have a different hardware version? Or is it tied to the Apple ID and the watchface is automatically downloaded after each update or already present in WatchOS but hidden by default?
You absolutely will NOT pair an Hermès watch with a Florida-orange rubber (or fluoroelastomer... pffft) band. I forbid it.I am beginning to wonder how the Hermès watch face might look with the orange sport band. Orange is Hermès' signature color and would compliment the second hand.

Do they? The one I tried on didn't... and it wasn't on a demo loop.I'm in Florida though!
Regarding the face issue. The Apple Watch Edition has exclusive faces. So, whatever method is used to limit those faces to the Edition will be used to limit these new faces to the Hermès.

The only features exclusive to the Edition faces are gold or rose gold second hand, date, etc. They're otherwise the same faces.
My favorite look is the Simple, with everything off but the date. Thing is, I find myself using this combo less and less, because I prefer to have more info immediately available - one of the key reasons for wearing a smartwatch IMO. Not to imply that swiping up is difficult or time consuming, but it's much easier to just raise the wrist and get the time, date, weather, battery level, etc. I doubt the Hermès face supports complications. These "designer" faces won't focus on this area... that may not be a big deal to some people, though. The Hermes watch face is quite attractive. I wish my SS has more watch faces since the only one that looks good to me is the Simple watch face.

Probably the serial numbers... all of the faces, etc. may be there - just available to specific serials. JB community could answer this for us, as soon as iOS 9/watchOS 2 is opened up.Yes, so whatever method enables those on the Edition will enable the faces on the Hermès.

Nobody bothered to hack into the Edition-specific faces. Perhaps the Hermes face will be a bigger motivation.
Pointless for identical faces with 'slightly different hues' for the date and second hand. You'll see Hermès faces on Sport models, though... lolNobody bothered to hack into the Edition-specific faces. Perhaps the Hermes face will be a bigger motivation.
Wouldn't need it... just open up the OSes. All of the files are there. You'll see more tinkering now that things are getting finalized - there really was no need to even mess around with OS 1. Maybe if we can hurry up and get that Hermès face unlocked, I can keep the Mrs. from spending $$$ (or, more painfully, €€€) next month in Paris.Maybe the hackers didn't have $10,000-$17,000 laying around.

Forgot those people existed...Not pointless for those with gold-plated AW. However, it'll no longer matter when we get wOS2 because we're getting a lot more color options including Vintage Rose, etc.
Cheaper than her buying an actual Hermès, that's for sure. Problem is, the Apple Store at Galeries is on the 3rd floor - which means we have to pass by all of the "real" watch/jewelry stores to get there. Didn't work out so well (for my wallet) last time. It'll be the cheapest thing she buys the entire trip.
So far only women have been used in marketing for the Double Tour. In fact, I do not think I have seen a man used in any of the marketing for any of the bands yet.
The Double Tour is only available with the 38 mm case, and in the world of watches the smaller of two offered cases is almost always designed for a ladies watch.
While Apple has not clearly stated it, I expect someone at Hermès would almost certainly tell you that it is feminine and a ladies band, as they do with their mechanical watches.
While Apple products are unisex, Hermès products are most decidedly not, which is why even the Capucine band on the Single Tour is only available with the 38mm case.

Yeah, I don't think these branded watches will have any complications other than the date.My favorite look is the Simple, with everything off but the date. The modular face does look very good with your setting. However I still find the time to be a bit too small and there is no way to display the seconds. That's weird.Yeah, being someone who loves and wears Swiss mechanicals, I assumed I'd be all over the analog faces when I bought an Apple Watch. To my surprise, there's something about the link bracelet with the "modular" display in red (with the center display section off) that has a masculine, futuristic design that I'm drawn too. It slightly reminds me of a cool, old Pulsar.
I'm not sure I even care about more analog-style face options, unbelievably, and I'd imagine you're right about complications on designer faces.

Here is a square Movado Luma begging to become an Apple Watch.

US Customer Service says the Madison Avenue store will have it on the 5th.Have you spoken with anyone at Hermès Madison?
I called Hermès in the Miami design district and they told me they wouldn't have them until November because they were relocating. I've yet to speak to anyone at Hermès, an Apple Store, or at Apple customer service who knows anything about this offering.
