No I don't.

I think it's a brilliant (and only) time of the year where our whole family descend at once on our house, share gifts, get drunk, sing, dance and have a great time in a window where everybody is off work. The TV also gets quite good (barring the Christmas Doctor Who, bleh), it occasionally snows and everything goes cheap.

Are all 7-Elevens open today?!

That would be amazing. Can anyone confirm?

7-11 is open!!!!! Just picked up a 6 pack of Guiness :D

And what makes me laugh is that people actually think jesus was born today. He wasn't and the 25th was originally a pagan holiday it wasn't even till Pope Julius I demanded that the birth of jesus be moved to the 25th. Like i said i don't mind christmas but this forum seems very cliquish in the regards of not respecting other peoples pov's.

It doesn't matter that 12/25 is not the actual day that Jesus was born, but rather we Christians celebrate the miracle that occurred (Virgin birth, God coming into creation). Many people who are not Christian, seem to enjoy this time of the year, whether its Christmas, hanukkah, kwanza, etc. If the religious overtures are not important, why not just enjoy this time of year instead of mocking those who do.

What about Cadbury Creme Eggs?

That just looks disgusting, I never saw the fascination with Cadbury Eggs that looks like snot coming out of chocolate.

Christmas is about the lights, the music, spending time with family. Giving and sharing with one another.

We could go into things that are a waste of time but that would be against the rules.:p

MR is part of my family

So... Christmas sucks because of your poor planning??

And you don't need alcohol to have a good time
In fact, without it, you might actually remember it

Excellent response...

@waloshin

First off, apology. Why? Previous post that got deleted. No, mods are not forcing me. I posted without knowing you. So, I decided to dig into what you are like through your forum posts. What I found was, well, to say the least, disheartening. This thread thus far, proves the worst of all your threads, and by a long run.

If you can't find the true meaning of these holidays after hearing so many people. Well, I'm afraid, everything in your life will be lifeless, boring, and dull.

This is what I think you are thinking when you see all of us tell you. Don't try to make others question their holiday spirits just because you either can't be organized enough to make something special, can't find or discern the meaning, don't have who to celebrate with or simply refuse to acknowledge the true meaning knowing full well what it is. That's just trying to make other miserable so you can feel better, which I find by far the most despicable and disgusting thing one human can do to another human.

I love christmas time because I get to see my family on both of my parents sides that I usually don't see any other time during the year.

Except for my grandmother, who I see often. But thats ok :)

Yes, its a waste of time. Taco bell closed at 3pm by me. I almost starved LOL

Sometimes people don't live nearby, traveling for the holidays is common. Out of all days I could come home, Christmas is the day that is most guaranteed. As much as my family kills my buzz sometimes, I wouldn't skip this day.

Merry Christmas, bro.

He had it right the first time.

I get enough traffic and replies to my threads, and I get enough traffic from MR to my blog.

1) You have to spend lots of money on Christmas presents.
The wife and I spent about $200 total on gifts for 20 or so people. Your definition of lots may vary.

2) On Christmas eve which if you don’t know is December 24th nothing is open past 3pm, but for the local 7-11. So if you want to get food or get a drink or do something you can’t!

3) Christmas day everything is closed nothing opens, once again 7-11 is the only thing open. So once you get bored of sitting around the dinner table listening to stories about work their’s nothing else to do.
My wife, who works retail, had to work until 5pm on Christmas Eve. After that, we drove for 4 hours to get to my parent's house, passing numerous open restaurants, gas stations, and even an open Wal-Mart or two.
Christmas morning my brother realized he had forgotten to get a fresh propane tank (we deep fry multiple turkeys at our house), so we got in the car and within 10 minutes found 3 open places staffed by someone willing to give up part of their holiday to work, and all 3 of them had a much cheerier attitude than you're displaying, despite being at their job rather than at home with their families enjoying the day. to be fair, we should also include the numerous police, firefighters, EMTs, doctors, and nurses, etc. who also have to work holidays.

4) I go to Digg.com to find out that the whole front page is full of crappy Christmas stories.
So find something else to do.

5) Boxing Day sales on the 26th are overcrowded with children with all their Christmas money. And the sales aren’t that great either.
If the sales aren't all that great, then why do you bother going and getting upset at the crowds? You'd do better sitting at home and feeling sorry for yourself.
