Everything is too crowded and overpriced. If you need to get something to eat, the only place you can afford or get into is the local 7/11.

Your family and friends want to see you. I don't want to spend time with you for the rest of the year, why is today any different?

it's not a waste of time. I made kickass cupcakes and had awesome chinese food.
 
I do. It's too soon after Christmas, and it's putting to death my 3 favorite holidays (Haloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).

How about $0.50 drink night down here? Unreal, yet the club manages just with a $10 (sometimes $15) entrance fee....

I guess that is one of the negatives with widely observed holidays. Those holidays pull people from the woodwork (to, sometimes, annoy you).
I am glad I picked the place where I will not be bothered by strangers (so far; there is no guarantee I can get away with this situation forever, as people move around).
 
NYE is all build-up and no delivery, very much like Christmas in that respect. I don`t hate it but it`s so totally over-hyped.
And if you don`t want to make a big deal out of it everyone get`s weird about it.
It`s very far from being an important day in my calendar.
I think it`s mainly because Christmas "starts" in mid October these days by the time it comes round I`m totally sick of hearing about it, never mind new year.

So you are not in the "any excuse to par-tay" mode I take it... :p
 
It's got it's ups and downs. I don't really care that much about it. Don't like it when the neighbours set of the really load M80s or whatever they are called. Used to scare the cats when my family had cats.

And I really envy those in the big cities such as those near the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin. Looks very cool from the TV and all we get is a Space Needle (it's not bad).
