I work on Friday but am hoping to take an early lunch break and head over to my local T-mobile store and see if I get lucky for an iPhone 7+. Any one else doing the same?

I'm off and I stay literally down the street from both a verizon and at&t (I may be switching from at&t)...so I've thought about it. I'm not sure though. Apple store is about 20 min. away

I'll be headed to my local Verizon store. I took the plunge and tried the Galaxy Note 7, which has been a disaster, as everyone knows. So, I couldn't pre-order since I'm returning my phone and purchasing the 7. I can see if there's a crazy line early that morning. I also don't really care about color, so I'll take whatever they have in 128.

Usually hit the south philly att store around 545am but will be in Raleigh area for work. Will be doing the same

This is my exact situation. I purchased a galaxy note 7 as well so I'm stuck in this mess of having to return it and not being able to pre-order it. I don't care about color either, as long as it's a plus i'll be happy.

I went to my local Apple Store in Belfast yesterday who told me there will be no available phones in store for people just turning up. All phones are gone to Reserve to Pickup customers

What carrier are you on? I'm on Tmobile and was on the phone with customer care, they let me preorder the 7 plus 128. I'm planning to stop by my local Tmobile store Friday morning also, if they have one on hand, I'll pick that up, cancel my order and return my Note 7.

I also have t-mobile. Neither of the reps that I've spoken to gave me that option unfortunately. I keep getting different information from each one on what to do.

I am not sure if you would get a 7+ on launch day if you walk in after lunch... As it is, carrier stores are anecdotally notorious for having poor inventory of desirable models, I think what few models they have may disappear by the time you show up.

Definitely a possibility, I suppose I'll just try and see what happens. If not I'll just try again when they get some more.

Not my first iPhone launch, I've done it a couple times before. I'll just take my lunch break around 9:30 and see what happens.

Interesting. Pretty much zero chance that you would be able to get in line at 9:30 and get a phone in my area... at any carrier store or Apple Store. Good luck to you.

I have the early morning off so driving by early that morning to see if a few of my local corp stores are open and calling thursday evening to check on possible stock at the location.

This year seems to be a no brainer for the carrier stores. Verizon is giving me $650 for my iphone 6 which basically pays for iphone 7. Apple Store only giving about $225 for my iphone 6. Not sure why anyone would not want to take advanatage of what the carriers are offering..

I think that's my plan too. Hopefully I'll get lucky and 1 of the 2 bigger stores by me will be opening up a little early or something.

In years past I would be like a rabid dog that I missed out on a launch day delivery. This year I got a sept 26 delivery window if it comes early great if not I'm just going to relax and wait it out. I think I've mellowed with age haha

I'm thinking of getting up at 3 am and going to my att store. My town is not very big(population 30,000), but my town is next to a bigger town(140,000) that has like 5 or 6 att stores and an Apple Store, so I'm hoping a lot of people won't be at my town. I preordered with apple and I'm in the 4th-10th window with no movement, so I'm going to cancel if I can get one. I'm looking to get a matte 128 plus.

I know they won't get a lot of phones but I did talk to the manager there on Monday and he said they expect to get 5 plus models of every color minus jet black, and he said there will be a lot of 4.7 7s. So, fingers crossed.

Funnily and angrily enough I went to the AT&T store Monday because I found out that Att was doing a free iPhone when you trade in a qualifying iPhone. My wife has an iPhone 6 16 GB with horrible battery life, I was just going to give her my iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB but when I seen the promotion I went in to ask questions. So now we are going to trade in her iPhone 6 and get her an iPhone 7 32gb in rose gold and I'm going unlock my 6+ and sell it. To top it all off she is actually going to get it this Friday, it is already shipped. That pissed me off. I order mine on launch day and will not see it till October, we order hers through att on Monday and she will get hers on Friday. That's why I want to go there Friday. It doesn't seem fair she gets hers first, and she doesn't even care about technology. Her battery just sucks on hers, is the only reason we are getting one, she didn't even want one, which is why we didn't preorder hers on launch day.

Anyone think I have a outside shot if I show up at 3am?

I'll be showing up at my local AT&T store around 12-3am. It's a smaller authorized retailer store, my city has a population of 49,000. We do have a bigger corporate store but the smaller one is 4min down the street from me and right next to a Starbucks :)

The nearest Apple Store is 16min away and inside a mall.

Well I will be showing up to my local VZW store at 4 am on Friday morning in hopes of getting me a matte/regular black 32 GB iPhone 7. I spoke to an associate there this past weekend and he sounded pretty confident if I showed up early Friday morning I will be able to get one. I am thinking the same thing since the one I want is on the low end vice the 7 plus. I live in West Texas so I am hoping there will not be a massive NYC type turnout. I also figure if I am first in line and even if my local store has only one of every model and size I will get what I want.

Definitely going to be interesting finding out what stock these stores actually have tomorrow.

FWIW the Verizon corporate store in Waldorf, MD said they'll have 50 phones available tomorrow. I didnt get a breakdown of colors/sizes but thats what the sales rep told me.
