Carrier Who else will be braving their local carrier store?

What city are you in?

A couple years ago, I lined up at midnight, and was the only person there until about 03:00. ... Incidentally, even first in line, I didn't get the phone I really wanted.

Not a big city, and I really doubt anyones planning on showing up before like midnight at the earliest but on the off chance someone actually does I want to make sure Im first so I can get a 7 plus matte black 128gb.
Worst situation would be waiting all night and them not having any. Im hoping the manager will at least give me some hints around closing time if they received any pluses and if waiting is even worth it at that point.

lol I'm all for lining up early, and that's just because I really want a new phone, but I'm definitely not about the whole camp over night situation. If I had someone else to camp and hang out with then maybe lol I've never seen anyone camp at the local store near me so hopefully this won't be the year anyone decides to.

Lol yea I somehow convinced my GF who doesn't really care about phones to come join me, so it won't be a total bore.
Its my first time living in this area so well see, I'm just taking the word of the employees.

It's tough to say what the truth is but after calling five local T-Mobile stores, three of them didn't know or wouldn't say what stock they were getting and two said they were getting very little stock and no 7 Plus models.

Like I said earlier that sounds about right b/c my VZW store said the same thing. Looks like Apple held most of the plus models for their stores?

The official statement Apple put out says that they will have NO plus models for sale for walk in customers at their store.

Now, they of course will have them for those who placed a reservation. But once carrier stores order phones from Apple I don't think Apple can just hold those/cancel the order as they have a contract with carrier stores for the agreed upon amount of phones.

What it is is likely each carrier location is getting different amounts, depending on the area, etc.

I say that b/c even if I was 5th in line, most people would want the plus size; but now with none being available they might just settle for what's available which will be a 7 model.

My local AT&T store also said they havent got any 7+ models irrespective of color. They only have a few iPhone 7s.

To clarify, it's only APPLE stores that are confirmed to have no plus models for walk ins. Carrier stores and places like Best Buy are up in the air.

Your best bet is to call your local store and ask. I just got off the phone with my local Verizon store. All he could tell me was they for sure had some pluses, but couldn't/wouldn't say how many or what color/storage they are. He said last year they got 5 pluses, but that's no real indication of what they'll have this year.

Now, I'm lucky I was able to get that info, as a lot of people are given no information when they call. I'll personally probably show up at like 9PM tonight and wait until they open at 8AM. I should hopefully be first in line this way. I want either a Jet Black 128GB Plus, or a Matte black 128GB Plus. I know the odds of those are probably low, especially the Jet Black, but with pre order times in October for Matte and November for Jet Black, I fell that I have to try for one.

The only thing that sucks is it's supposed to rain/storm tonight...

I'm going to give this a try in a little and beg if i have to. I Would hate to be there all night or all early morning just to be out of luck.

Lol I hear ya weesy, but I originally planned on 5 am, then after texting an employee a few days ago, and him telling me a lot of people have been coming in asking about the 7; I changed my plan to 4am. Now today with them saying they will not have any pluses, 3am is my plan. Two reasons: (1) If I am first in line my chances increase to 50/50 of getting the GB/color I want if they even have them in stock. (2) With no pluses being available then obviously if there is a person ahead of me who wanted a plus, they may just settle for a 7, which could be the 7 I want. And then if there are two people ahead of me and so on.................This is my first time getting from a carrier doing the whole early in the morning thing by the way.

My guess is at least 2 hours before they open. My store opens at 8, so that would be 6. The kick in the rear is that I could be first in line and find out there are no 7 Pluses at all. It's total crap.

That would be better than the person in front of you getting the last or only Plus.

Well I will be sure I am parked in the parking lot by 3 am, and if I pull up and see like 20 people already in line; then that's 20 7s that I won't get and I may just head back home.

I too wish I had someone going with me. I only live around 15 minutes from the store, and have family home right now, so I might ask them to stop by at some point in the night to relieve me so I can drive to a gas station to use the bathroom and grab stuff to eat/drink.

That's cool you have folks to relieve you man. Just hope the people behind you don't throw a big fit saying some "you move you lose" crap. I have never done a launch line before for an iPhone. I will probably bring some water and maybe a cereal bar with my along with my fold out chair and of course I will be armed (legally) as I always carry where I am legally able to carry.
