Songs

I wondered how many iTunes songs does Steve Jobs have? That might be interesting facts to know. ;)

Wondered if he get free songs from all recordings or paid some of 'em? Any knows?

2 Million or how ever many songs there is on the iTMS is my guess

8741 items, 24.3 days, 38.38 GB

The first thing I do when I buy a new album is rip it to my Mac. Why? First off, if my physical media is ever destroyed I still have a copy that I can use (and I've paid for it already, so isn't that my right ?). Also seeing as how I spend way too much time on my computer I can just about always find some music to fit my mood.

But I agree that it is also about having a collection, so when the urge to hear that one certain song hits you, you have it right there. That's such a great feeling. :D

I have a friend who produces for MTV, he gets freebies like crazy. He literally has tons of CDs in his place. Thousands of them; w/c he can barely listen to. A lot of them haven't even been opened. He hasn't given any away, unfortunately, since he's also a collector. He probably purchased only a quarter of his total collection, the rest are giveaways. nice job. on second thought, a lot of that might be crappy music. oh well..:D

Wow, I feel so... so... put to shame... I have 1464 and that makes me the cock of the walk in this town... but next to you guys I'm just nothing.:(

2,866 tracks. 11.88 gigs. a week and a day. (i think it's hilarious how 10 years ago, we were saying that 2-4 gig hard drives would be "all the space we would ever need." right now, we're saying "1-2 terabytes?! who's ever going to need that much stuff?!" i bet in another 10 years into the future, we will be sayin the same thing about the terabyte that we are saying about the gigabyte now.)

If he pays, he could only buy one song a year:D , or he should have to sell some stock:rolleyes:

140,000 Songs, over 472 days, and 1.3 terabyte. Thas is just on my Music Server which is in the process of being redone, so its about 1/2 of what I really have as I am still importing music back into iTunes from my total of 3 terabytes of music I do own. (All Legal)

On my MBP i have 10,957 songs, 42.3 days and 83.92 GB of music.

Damn son!

What audio format are you using? What's your RAID sittin' in?

I need to redo my music server one of these days. I'd like to get a T inside a graphite G4. The 1/2T in the B&W can be a bit slow at times.

What do you use you MBP for? There can't be that much space left in that thing to do any actual work ...

Right on slicemaster. I put every album I have on my mac and then back it up periodically. I love buying and having the physical CD, but that form of media just doesn't last.
