Mine looks naked, but isn't. I use Best Skins Ever, it's a full body skin similar to Zagg (but better and a lot cheaper). It gives the phone that bit of protection against scratches/nicks (carry phone in pants pocket usually), and also actually helps protect the exterior from falls (doubt it offers serious drop protection though). Also gives the iphone a little more grip, so it's not as slippery, while still maintaing a totally naked look.

I do prefer the naked look, but as someone else said, when I jump phones I usually try to sell my previous one, and the price drops SIGNIFICANTLY with cosmetic damage. The skins offer the best of both worlds IMO.

Also, I am thinking of getting a LifeProof case, not for 24/7 use, but for beach days and camping and what not, where I'm out in the 'elements.' Also it turns the iphone into an underwater camera, which is pretty f'in awesome. WAY too bulky to be used as a fulltime case though.

Mine is completely naked except for a vinyl wrap around the antenna. The metal is slippery so I put the vinyl wrap for texture.

I haven't put a case or anything on mine for over a year now. When I first got it, I ended up dropping it (no damage) so got a case but hated the extra bulk.

Since then I've dropped it twice and there is a very tiny crack on the back glass but I'm not OCD like some people on MR (the ones who make a thread with the pics and have tears and snot flowing all over the place).

The phone still works, it works well, and I couldn't be happier.

I had 2 naked iPhones 4's. Forget that sh^t. Both had cracked front screens after one drop. Just my luck, right? The current one I got this past Friday is cased in with an Incipio Feather all black case. I love the feel and grip. Forget going all naked. The iPhone would slip out my hand constantly. I'm not an clumsy person. But as far as the front screen is concerned. I have that without a screen protector. Because I like the feel of the screen and how bright and sharp the Retina display is.

But this replacement. I'm definitely keeping an eye on for some time.

perhaps a little cliche - i couldn't put a case on an iPhone, they look too good.

Mine is without a case.

Hate how bulky a case makes it feel.

I take good care of my phone and wouldn't drop it like others might.

Next time the front will break and then see how you feel.

I go back and forth - either an ultra-thin barely-there type case or naked. Depends on the situation. If I'm home or at work, it's usually naked. If I'm out & about and I don't know what I may end up putting my phone down on, I'll snap the thin case on the back.

But I hate bulking up the phone with anything bigger. My wife has an Otterbox Commuter. And while it's not as big as some, I would never be comfortable jamming that thick of a phone in to my pocket (because, um, there's no room left. Yeah).

Never used a case on any of my iPhones, been a user since the original iPhone - iPhone 4, (I skip the S versions) dropped all phones a number of times the original and 3G were a lot better about being dropped. But never shattered a screen.

Mine is. I put it in a case if I know I'm going out to do something that wouldn't be smart to tackle without one.. but otherwise I just use it naked. Feels great!

I've owned only 1 case and that was for my iPhone 3G, my 4S has been naked and only dropped a handful of times. No visible damage at all

All were naked except for Best Skins Ever on back and 3M Crystal screen protector on 4s

My bumper the closest thing to no case just broke so I've made the decision to go naked for a while. So it made me wonder....

how many people go naked and how often do you drop your phone compared to other people with a case which might give you enough confidence to go naked

I have a privacy shield on the face, and a rear cheaply £0.99 rear crystal clear cover,so effectively nude...

The iPhone 4/4S is so slippery with its front and back glass design, not to mention fragile, that makes it very hard to use it naked for me personally. That is why I use a case just so that there is some texture that gives me some grip while holding it. Anybody else have this problem with the ultra smooth exterior of the iPhone 4/4S?

I work in heavy industry so going caseless would result in broken shards of glass in my pocket after 5 minutes on site ..but I would love to be able to use it raw if I could do it all the time.

Never had a case or bumper for my 4S. I do use a leather sleeve from sena when the phone's in my pocket or if I have it laying out.

I've only dropped my phone once, but it was on my couch. It'd be fine on carpet, too, I'm sure. You'll definitely see dings or cracks on harder surfaces. But drops don't happen often, just gotta be aware of your phone and where you keep it if you care about dropping it enough.

Nope. It's made of glass. Haven't you run your finger across some glass and had it squeak? In some ways it is less slippery than some of the plastic cases out there.

I just use a skin by The Lucky Labs to avoid scratches from putting it on my desk. Other than that, completely naked.
