Yes I think It depends on you if you can afford to replace the glass if you drop it then a case is not as important but if like a lot of us you can't afford to frow away 200 pound I'd use a case plus protects the phone from getting marked and scratched up while in ur pocket or bag #

I could easily afford to replace my iPhone. That doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to leave it naked and have to waste $200 replacing it. I have an Otterbox on it. That may be too extreme for some, but having a case with some sort of drop protection is absolutely necessary for owning an iPhone.

Always naked here.

Tried a bumper on my i4 once when I got it free, decided I didn't like it.

Oh and after a year or so I put a screen protector on my 3G because I noticed it was starting to scratch, but I haven't repeated that with my 4.

No screen protector, bumper or case on my 4S, and its in better condition than some peoples who bought theirs after me and used the above.

6 months in and its still immaculate, its all about being sensible with it (put it in a trouser pocket on its own, etc)

:)

I've been going naked with my phone lately, if I'm going to be somewhere relatively safe. At the gym or the work site, I have my Magpul case for some extra protection.

I have only used a screen protector on my iPhone 4 since July 2010 and it still looks mint and good. I am alergic to cases. They make a nice looking device look like an ugly and boring brick. I just tend to be a bit more careful (no putting keys/metals in same pocket, keeping it away from edges) which isn't too much.

My bumper the closest thing to no case just broke so I've made the decision to go naked for a while. So it made me wonder....

how many people go naked and how often do you drop your phone compared to other people with a case which might give you enough confidence to go naked

Naked all day! Nothing like the true beauty of the iPhone!

Naked, no screen protectors or bumper since I got my iPhone 4. I haven't broken it but I've noticed some light scratches, probably from flinging my phone across glass / marble tables and possibly from sliding around in my pocket all day.

I don't mean to make it sound like I treat my iPhone like a hockey puck: the scratches are pretty imperceptible and it still looks great. I give it a wipedown every once in a while but it looks 100x better without a bumper or case imo.

I leave my iPhone covered at all times. No one wants to see your iPhone naked. Please spare us!!!

According to one if your other posts recently, you are a nudist I would think you would relish the idea.
Wait, maybe your just a troll.

Not sure why people parrot this meme. Accidents happen. You can attempt to mitigate them but you can't prevent them entirely.
Strange definition. I would consider the epicurean attitude far more meme-ish. Most accidents are absolutely preventable.

I use a clear bumper. Protects from minor falls, from sliding out of my shirt pocket, and being scratched from a table surface. Most people don't even realize it is on there since the phone still looks silver and black.

lol, I have a lifeproof case that is all sorts of scuffed and scratched. I couldnt own a phone without a case. My career and lifestyle is just too rough to keep my phone on me and not have it in a case. Last time I pulled it out of the case it was mint....

Never had a case for the 7 months I'vehad my 4s. Minor scratch near the home button and a little "ding" in the plastic above the glass because my friend dropped it on St Pattys day.

Nakey nakey

I had the pink/black with white poka dots case from Kate Spade and it busted as I had to use a butter knife to get it off. I've been rolling case free ever since, and I have a chip on the lower left corner to prove it. :-(

I decided today to take my front griffin anti glare screen protector off. I really thought i could put up with the fuzzyness and the weird feel of the screen, but decided i have had enough. So for the front of my iPhone 4s i have got no screen protector. For the back of my iPhone I have a protector plus a moshi case to protect the back and sides of the phone.

It feels so good the glass without the screen protector. Its kept in my pocket with no keys or coins, unless i am at work, it is on my desk, or if i am at home, its on the sofa with me. :)

Naked... Had a case on it for a few months and the case scratched the antenna and back more than i ever could have... Never but the Caze case thats like a millimetre thick - it does more damage than good! Still waiting on an apology from them!

I have honestly got about 30 cases for my iPhone, I used to use them a lot when I first got my iPhone (for about the first 2-3 months) but then I thought whats the point in having such a good looking phone if it is always covered by a case.
So now I use it completely naked. I have dropped it a few times on carpet but not really any major damage. A few light scratches on the back and none on the front.

3GS naked since it came out. Two or three drops and a dunk in a big pot of chilli... slight crack on back, no significant other damage.

Hardware is getting a bit old now though... roll on september!

Nekkid most of the time. I love the design and feel of it too much to cover it up. Though I do put my Otterbox on when I'm at my summer job.

I love the way it looks and feels naked, but then I dropped it on the concrete garage floor when I was getting out of the car:( which resulted in a small chip. So I covered it with a casemate silvery glittery case which is really pretty. I get tons of compliments on the case (which covers the chipped area).
