Gotta say I disagree and love the black keys and bezel. The bezel frames the screen perfectly and don't think you'd get the same sort of contrast with an aluminium frame.

As some one who isn't a touch typist, the black keys suit me perfectly and are easy to distinguish against the case. Aluminium or a white key set just would blend in to much for me.

I agree with the folks saying that the black keys are more logical when in middle light are being illuminated...

they make more sence ...

BUT...the black bezel+glossy screen is the ONLY reason wich kept me off buying the Unibody MBP.

unfortunately i cant upgrade to the 17 antiglare model but i think for a computer costing from 1800 to 2200EUROS _(2540 dollars base price in Europe to 3000dollars top line 15 inch....) my dear Apple SHOULD have predicted the implementation of such e feature....

not everybody are 20 year olds playing games chatting on facebook and watching movies.

I work in the medical sector and having to analyse medical data on a glossy is painfull for my eyes in an enviroment with 2 windows in my back

had a glossy MBP gor 10 days...changed it with no question...

Dell has the option of antiglare in computers of 1300Euros WHY NOT Apple?

It seems tha Apple is becomming more consumer than ever...

AND I HATE Phil Schiller saying for the 17 inch ''I ll sow you the glossy one cause is my favourite'' this is fairytails for stupid people.....

if they do not make a 15inch matte I ll have the proff that Apple is changing A LOT....

ps. sorry for my poor English.

On the 17" Matte, the bezel is aluminium. The black keys don't really bother me, and if they weren't black they wouldn't be able to have back lighting.

i wish my mac pro keyboard was black. :)
im thinking of getting an old apple pro keyboard.

i dont mindd the black bezel and keys otherwise.. :) its nice.

The black bezel on the 15" to me is too big and ugly. But the bezel on the 17" is much better proportioned. Black keys over white anyday of the week.....

i like both the bezela and the keys

having a black bezel and the glass over all of it makes it look so much more integrated and its a lovely change from flexi cheap plastic bezels

the black keyboard doesnt show the dirt but it does show the wear a lot more. Apple should have put a slightly more rough matte finish on the keys and then they would take longer to show the wear, or i should use a keyboard cover but i really do hate the feel of silicone on a keyboard. My Macbook is naked

Bezel on the 13" MacBook isn't bad. It's a small machine, plus it's a consumer machine so not terribly important. Bezel on the 15" is not acceptable. Apple had a very thin border on the PowerBook in 2001 with the Titanium, why did they need to go back on it? They made it thinner so they had to make it wider, why not keep it at 1". Bezel on the 17" is perfect.

As for it being black, I like it. I believe it outlines the screen nicely.

The keys don't bother me. The bezel I don't like at all. When the computer is being used the reflections are muted on the display with the display light. The bezel being black and covered by glass shows every reflection which can be very distracting.

Just curious, Who here hates their Black Keys and Black Bezel
on their new Macbook Pro's ?
I have the new 15" MBP and just hate the black keys and bezel !

The model before with Silver Keys and Silver Bezel was 1000% nicer !

Me. That's why I got the previous model. I really dislike the look of the unibody machines. To me they look cheap.

two-tone was fine for my Dad's '68 Buick, but on a 2008-2009 laptop it's ugly.

Black keys are the best - they finally learned that from IBM, who's been making keys since forever (I'm going back to typewriters here.) Black bezels too. How many silver bezels do you see on TVs and ask yourself why? Silver is a distraction. My Thinkpad is so much more calming to look at, regardless of it's design. Color is one of the biggest design elements.

Make the whole laptop BLACK!!!

I love my anti-glare display, I also love my 24" LED but I will try to sell it if apple introduces a anti glare version.
The black keys are nice, also I use the backlit more often than I used to do with my powerbook.

For me, it's "meh." I like the black bezel, but I think it would look WAY better if the keys were white instead of black, following the scheme of the iMacs/aluminum keyboards. Perfect match there. Apple products are supposed to have white in their color scheme...maybe that's why the unibodies look "off" to me. I stuck some Apple stickers on my palmrests to balance things out visually:

I have a *slight* Apple sticker problem. They'd be on my car too...if I had one. :D

.......... okkk ..........

Anyways, I like the new black key/bezel design. It looks better than the old MBP.

You can try the Clearguard. I have it, and really...it's barely noticeable. It's only noticeable when you actually type on it.

I don't have one, but I think the combo of black keys and bezel in the aluminium casing looks pretty smart overall. The one thing I really dislike about the way these laptops look is, quite comically, the big apple logo on the back. I think something a bit more discrete would've done wonders for them.

I think the lit-up apple is a nice touch, especially on the blackbooks.

The apple logo isn't that big..

They look like dells.

I can deal with the keys. The bezel is awful, and the fact that they don't offer a matte 15'' right now is even worse.

i love the way my mbp looks.
my only problem with black keys is they will get shiny with time.

The matte 17" UMBP is very hot, because it doesnt have the ugly black bezel but keeps the nice black keys.

A similar 15" matte MBP or MB would be ideal.

The current MBP and MBs look like HPs or other generic PC laptops.

Maybe from 50' away, but not when you get within 10 feet.

My god the HP's have terrible 'fit and finish', I bought one to play with Vista and took it back within 3 hours. The bezel around the keyboard was a two piece unit and was misaligned. The Manager said " oh they're all like that! " :yikes:

I cannot imagine seeing a comparison, even if I was blind drunk!

Black keys are not required for backlighting. The silver keys on my MBP are backlighted. The color of the keys has nothing to do with backlighting.
