I always think my unibody MacBook Pro's keyboard looks ugly, until I go to Best Buy and see this:

Then my unibody is beautiful again. :D

Does anyone else agree that Windows 7's Aero Glass theme looks so much better/cooler while it's running on a Mac? Somehow there's a closer match, I dunno...:)

I'm ok with the keyboard...i wouldn't mind silver keys though..i really don't like the bezel though, i wish it was silver like on my old air.

I disagree. I absolutely love how the black looks. I think it makes the screen look nicer and the keys stand out much more. I use a keyboard for my desktop that has black keys with white letters, and my monitor has a black bezel so I'm kind of used to it.

The only problem I have with my '08 MBP Classic silver keyboard is that I have had to replace the enter/return key twice since I've owned the computer. The keys seem to break more easily on my MBP than on the newer UMBP. Of course this is just my opinion. I still like the classic silver keyboard and the feel and touch are nice, but if my enter/return key breaks one more time, the Apple store has already told me that I will need to have the entire keyboard replaced.

So I am walking on egg shells around here.

I might have already responded to this thread. :D

I love the black keys and black bezel - improves reading and viewing.

It's the silver aluminum that I hate. I would love to see that anodized black (I'd even pay someone to do it for me).

The black keys look sick on the aluminum bodies. What I don't like is the extremely fast wear and tear on these things. But oh well, they are made to be used (be touching them).

I'm in the middle about the keys but I am in love with the black bezel. It looks so much better than the silver of the MBA in my opinion; more classy and sophisticated.

Oh, I disagree, the black keys look sharp. I owned the prior models with the silver keys. The unibody MBP is the best looking computer on the market and a great performer on top of that.

I think that's a matter of opinion.. I'm pretty sure there are people here who'd disagree with you. Even so, it wouldn't cost Apple too much money to give it's users the option of choosing between White caps and Black caps. Then again, there's nothing stopping the OP from replacing them manually from MacBook spares.. though the backlight won't work effectively.

I hate the direction Apple went with black on silver.

The last model MBP still looks much better in my opinion.

I love the bezel. I like the keyboard color (black), but the keys feel a bit chinky / unsturdy. I also really don't like the backlight bleed on them.

After about a week with a new unibody, I prefer the prior version's silver bezel, silver keys and the availability of a matte screen (just had to add that!).

Yup. Another annoyance is that none of them are perfectly straight. Every single key is slightly slanted in one direction or the other. The Eject key on mine is about 1 mm lower on the left side than the other keys, and 2 mm on the right side.

Also, the backlighting is bloody ugly on the chicklet keys. 5% of the light comes out where it's supposed to, the other 95% is a light tsunami leaking out around the edges. Did I order a Christmas tree?

I've seen photos of both UMBPs and old black MBs where they've taken the white keys from the alu keyboard... a replacement keyboard for the whitebook would probably fit too.

Yeah, one sticker on the left is OK, two kills it. I have nothing on my MBP 13"... on my four year old Dell I have like +20 stickers though hahaha.

To each his own, but my MBP is staying sticker-free:cool:

oh and I love the black keys, however at first I thought it was damn right ugly until I bought the machine and got use to it.

i think a poll would be nice to do.... It will make it easier to show who here hates or likes the black bezel and keys....
