I carry my iPhone the way it was when I first took it out of it's box; with nothing on it.

I've never liked cases. They add bulk. Instead, I've always used invisibleSHIELD's.

The only case I'm considering is the Mophie juice pack helium.

The front glass is really all that concerns me because that's what you look through to see the screen, so I may consider another invisibleSHIELD.

The metal doesn't worry me.

In fact, I'm thinking of gently engraving my initials in the aluminum.

I'd give it a cool tatoo on the silver backside if I knew I could make it look good.

Honestly once in a while I will put a case on my 5S, but I just can't keep it on. Once you get used to the feel without any case, NOTHING compares. Doesn't matter if it's the thinnest snap on case, a bumper, etc... They all just change the feel and balance of the phone in my hand. I'll take my chances in return for the enjoyment level being much higher naked, that's really all there is to it.

No screen protector nor case. I put my silver 5S in a blue bag that is just the size of device and pull it out when i need it. I don't like the bulky cases, but I am thinking of buying a protector film for the backside to avoid scuff and scratches

Who here is going naked? (no case)

A good quality slim bumper is the best of compromises.

Think about it. Even your aluminum MacBook has 4 small silicone feet on the bottom for scratch protection and non slippage.

A bumper gives the same for front/back and side lay on the table usage. And dropping.

Every naked phone I've seen, any brand, eventually gets scratched on the back and sides. A bumper slows that down while keeping the back fully exposed

It's much lighter to have a case without the weight/area of back leather or plastic. I don't use screen protection front nor back. My wife does.

Think of the fully naked situation of laying your phone down on a metal patio table? Or in the car?

I use the Spigen Neo Hybrid EX Slim. Took me a lots of cases to come back to a bumper. The Apple version was too large and scratched the finish.

For really rough conditions I have a LifeProof and another full case like Slim Armor. Or tough Armor.

Naked. Dropped it for the first time two days ago. On a parquet floor. No marks whatsoever, but I thought I was gonna die, lol

Naked...for now.

My iPhone 4 had a free bumper until that broke within 6 months. naked ever since. i dropped it a few times on a sidewalk from waist high...a few dings and tiny cracks on the backside.

NOW I have a work issued iPhone 5S. It is naked but I will be getting a case for it...work does NOT insure phones and if it breaks they might not get you an iPhone again...could be whatever they have on hand. I have dropped it once on a hard floor without a scratch.

Actually, those feet are to prevent the MacBook from laying flat on a surface and overheating.

Yes, that too, but not the only purpose. The vent at the back hinge and below the screen is used for cooling as well.

Slippage prevention is a function on a table too

But overheating at the back of the iPhone is very important too. So it's another point. Laying flat on the table or inside a full case prevents the aluminum back from breathing.

A bumper is perfect for that reason. Or naked.

I use a cheap TPU case. I've dropped several times on concrete/asphault with no damage yet. I'm to butterfingered to go naked.

Noticed a small nick on the chamfered edge of my iphone today. No idea how it got there, you can't see it unless you are specifically looking out for it, but no less irritating now that I know it's there.

Still don't plan to use a case though.
