Who here passed on the 5s this year and waiting for the 6?

What difference does it make either way the next phone is going to be better. And really the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 imo were such good phones I never really "needed" the spec bump even with new architecture. I could save my money.

If you remember well, iPhone 4 had some problems.
The "antenna gate" was largely exaggerated by competitors, but surely iPhone 4 reception wasn't great.
iPhone 4S solved every problem.

On the contrary iPhone 5 had no major issues.

Well, it's not easy to make a wise decision, because we can't really say if the -s cycle will be significantly better or just a specs bump.

I have had a 3g, 3gs, 4, and 4s. 5 didn't interest me. 5s really doesn't interest me as I find iOS 7 a UI train wreck. right now I'm using a Lumia and I love it..

I will also wait for the iPhone 6, b/c I see no reasons to switch to the 5S. I don't play that many games, so the new graphics chip and CPU will count for nothing, and the touch ID I find no use for it. My current iPhone 5 is in prestine condition (not a single scratch), only the touch digitizer screen has been acting up & I'm sure Apple has me covered in that dept. So I can hold on on my iPhone 5, until the rumor times near June or October of 2014 for the new iPhone 6 (or whatever they'll call it).

Yep - Have a 5, waiting for 6

I have upgraded each year for each new model.

A week before the 5s's came out I got a warranty replacement, so am enjoying my "new" phone till the 6 comes out :)

I'm passing up the 6, and got the 5S instead. Like the design, size, finger print reader, camera upgrade, A7 chip. Will wait until the 6S comes out. Like the S models that improve on the first newest design for any flaws that may show up on a brand new Apple iPhone.

Sorry but I can't agree with you, Señor. I thought first that it didn't had any differences with 4S or 5, but now I can say it has. And absolutely nothing has crashed what so ever, so that means that little CPU is delivering what it promises. In my case. :) Battery-life is better than any phone I had ever got. Plus it's sweet camera. 4-inch screen is great for me because I can't use a phablet in my hand or putting it in my pocket. I also thought to wait for the 6, but then I could be ending and waiting for iPhone 10S instead.

So why wait? I want to live in the moment by living now with my Goldilocks. :) It's like saying "I'm waiting for that new Ferrari because my today's isn't fast enough." ;)

...

I'll be waiting for at least the 6s. I got a 5 in June because my 4s dropped dead so I'm going to hold out until my contract and/or phone dies, preferably the former.

The iPhone is the one Apple product I do not have the itch to upgrade frequently. Even with the early upgrade options now (I could have upgraded to a 5s next month), I'm perfectly fine with my 5.

I've had 2 iPhones so far: an iPhone 3S and iPhone 4S.

Honestly, both phones were awesome. I felt the 3S was built better than the 4S. It seemed to be higher quality and didn't have the "rattles" that plagues the 4S. Still, both were and are awesome. Perhaps the most important thing that made them great? iOS. Between the 2 phones, I had an app crash maybe 4-5 times in 4 years. Just incredible.

Sadly, that all changed for my iPhone 4S when I upgraded to the hideously ugly iOS 7. I have 20+ app crashes a day. It's not only severely worsened my iPhone 4S experience, it's damaged Apple's reputation. I no longer have 100% confidence in the company. I was already frustrated that a bigger iPhone wasn't available with the 5 & 5S but to have iOS 7 dumped on me too?

So this is the first 2-year upgrade cycle I'm skipping. It's bigger screen or bust.

It's obvious to me that kicking out Scott Forstall was a huge mistake. Forstall helped make iOS look great; Ive stepped out if his area of expertise and helped make it terrible.

My iPhone 4S went from working flawlessly for 2 years to working and looking like Android. That's unforgivable.

The iPhone 6 had better deliver... with an option for a bigger screen and an improved OS. Otherwise, I'm off to Samsung and android (iOS 7 already feels and looks like it, anyway).

Excuse me, but how could you know now that you're not going to like design, size and a8 chip of iPhone 6 better than iPhone 5s ? ;)

I got a launch day iPhone 5. Just got it replaced under warranty for a broken lock button a couple if months ago. I have a new battery set to last another year at least. The 5s and my usage patterns do not justify an out of pocket upgrade. I'll be waiting for the 6.

While I don't think it's necessary to upgrade from a 5 to a 5S, all of you guys who still have the 5 and downplay the 5S differences will be really really impressed with the touch sensor when you get the iPhone 6. You won't realize how truly convenient it is until you get used to it. I still use my iPhone 4S for various tasks and try to unlock it as if it has a touch sensor. It's so fast and much more convenient than having a passcode to unlock your phone, purchase apps from appstore, etc.

I don't really think the fingerprint sensor is a big deal. It only unlocks the phones and buys apps. Once third party apps can use the API is when I think it'll really take off. With that said I update every iPhone.

Used to upgrade every year - sell old phone and buy new model.
Decided I will now only go for the new designs, and skip the 'S' model updates, which are generally only tweaks. Hence will stick with my 5 for now and get the 6 next year.

Might be best to hold off until the iPhone QuanTanium s, so they can work out all the kinks
You make a very good point, you'll be crazy not to wait for the "s" or maybe just wait for the iPhone after that, Im hoping it would take a shower for me by then

Long story short: I was gonna wait but my carrier sent me a free 5S (€0) so decided to sell the 5 (€415). So next year I'll sell the 5S (€400?) and get get 6 (€699), with a global balance of +€100 approx.
