I wish they would have made the black MacBook polycarbonate unibody. It would have looked so nice high-polished with LED backlit screen and glass track pad...

Here's to wishing!

I know right. I am still thinking to use it as my primary machine since it can be considered as a collector item now. hahaha

I'm still using the very first macbook, Core Duo so it only runs Snow Leopard, but i've had it since they first came out and it's still my main machine, never skips a beat.

Congrats to the OP for the great find. This reminds me of that fellow that bought that almost mint Tibook a few years ago. I'm envious.

My Blackbook 2007

Still have the 2008 blackbook although my partner uses it now (switched him over from Windows) since I got an 11" MBA. I would never sell it, unless I had to. Someone mentioned the Pismo, that was also a beautiful laptop, couldn't sell mine for years until I had the black Macbook.

I'm using one now; I got this black beauty in late Winter of 2007; I haven't had any worries really. It's a 13" 2 Ghz Core Duo 160 gb running OS X 10.7.2 LION

I wish  would come out with an anodized black aluminum unibody MBP

Meanwhile, I'm hoping for a 13" quad core soon; 13" is the PERFECT size for a notebook!

I am still using my May 2007 black MacBook - runs Lion reasonably happily but really shows it's age when running anything that needs graphics input!

My daughter still uses hers!! I actually just upgraded it to Snow Leopard from Tiger. And I have increased the memory to 2GB...using crucial.

MacBook 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (13-inch Black) MB063LL/A

This is her system. Is there anything else I should do to this laptop to ensure it continues to run smooth. Had it many years and the only two issues we have:

1. The case has cracked on the sides
2. The right arrow key no longer works

But that is minor.

Apple will still replace the plamrest part of the case if it has cracks on it for free, even if the machine is out of warranty. When doing this, the keyboard will also get replaced.

Hi I noticed you have 4GB but I thought the highest was 3GB. Can you tell me what you did to achieve this cause I would like 4GB too.
TIA!

This is great news.

The Macbook 2,1 models can see 4Gb, but only use 3.3Gb of it. Using two 2Gb sticks is the fastest, while one 1Gb and one 2Gb stick can be slightly slower.

Take it to the Apple Store.

Is that what's in it now? or did you just buy that as an upgrade?

currently it still has the 512mb 512mb to equal 1GB. I just upgraded to snow leopard and want it to run smooth.

I purchased the 2GB as an upgrade but I would prefer 4GB. I did the crucial scanner and that is how i ended up with the 2GB. I don't know how to choose the 4GB... not sure what I should be looking for.

Which online store do you want to buy it from? Other World Computing, Crucial, Amazon, NewEgg, eBay..?

You want DDR2 PC2-5300 two 2Gb sticks. Make sure its the smaller laptop kind, not the longer desktop kind.

You're welcome. I have one question for you now; I see that your Macbook's keyboard had the number pad on it, does the replacement keyboard have the number pad as well?

I bought one of these sexy BlackBooks for $450 a couple months ago. I found myself using it more than my brand new 15" MBP lol....only thing I did not like was the guy installed lion on it and after using lion for a while, I ended up hating it...i ended up giving it the BlackBook to my dad since his up laptop died...needless to say, he LOVeS it! Awesome laptop
