I have a very minor nick on mine and some slight discoloration at the end of one of the antennas....

And yeah, I'm happy with it. I'm not thrilled that it's not 100% perfect, but honestly, the blemishes are SO small. You honestly can't see the nick from further than about 12 inches away, and even then you have to squint.

The screen is gorgeous. Richer, more vibrant, yet still accurate and not hyper saturated. Beautiful.

I'm happy with my purchase except for the nice chipped edge in the metal... nevertheless it's a great phone. ;)

I care about resale value. You don't. End thread.

So, in essence you're treating the phone as if it isn't yours.

I don't case my iPhones. Haven't had a problem with any of them. Resale value was not significantly impacted. I find that hanging on to the box, cables and phones in as new condition contributes to increased resale more than a pristine phone does.

light leak very noticeable right when i turned it on. and a little nick and wear around each antenna parts.

Just got done re-installing and -configuring everything (I started from scratch rather than restoring from my iPhone 4 backup). Very happy so far. The exterior is flawless, and I love the simple black design. The iPhone 4 feels like a heavy brick after handling the 5 for a while. ;)

after seeing my friends phone i wish i go the white one

soo true that was biggest thing to me plus speed of lte is UNREAL

The scuffing is caused by improper curing time. No doubt because the factory skimped in the curing time to meet the September 21st launch date. Hopefully those of us who have a later delivery time will not have this issue, or to a lesser extent.

I'm happy with the black i5. No scuffs but a couple minor nicks on the outer plastic and aluminum frame. Seems a lot of people are having this issue and so far the rest of the phone looks great so don't plan on exchanging. If I find an issue with the screen however (dead pixel, etc..) then I'll consider swapping.

I bought a Snugg leather pouch on Tuesday which arrived Wednesday.

The black finish is beautiful but the extra 'lip' around the screen is another dust whore, just like the one round the screen. I hate dust with a passion.

I have one 1mm mark/scratch on the bezel and 2 minor 'dents' on the top of the aluminium back. I was annoyed by this to begin with but after seeing other peoples on here I think I'll stick it out.

Black is definitely the colour to have this year even if it comes with worries of marking.

The case fits a dream though, may be a little too tight!

Oh I love mine. It's great and runs smooth.

I just get no reception in my apartment at all :) I'm trying to figure out how I can switch back to my old 4S.

I love mine. Went from an iPhone 4S in white to this. The change is quite nice, and as much as I thought I would miss my white front plate, that I grew accustomed to for the last year, I'm actually really pleased with the black. The screen definitely has more vivid colours as well, and being black I'm not distracted by a white edging around my screen.

Make sure to reboot after activating the phone. Initially I had only one bar and no cellular data connectivity. After rebooting I now have 4 bars and LTE. :)

Bringing my 64gb back..Not that i don't like it. Just not worth the price of upgrading via full retail. Even at $400 I would not upgrade. $200 would be worth it.

In the end after selling my 4s I would have been -$500 or so. I think i am just going to go back to the S3 and this way after selling the 4s I will be only $50-$100 in the hole and have just as a good phone as the 5 in most regards.

Hey i i gave it chance, what more can you ask right :)

Thrilled with mine - black, 64GB.

No flaws.

Delivered to me at 8:58 AM, I set it up and restored from a backup (23 GB of material) with zero glitches in about 20 minutes.

The screen definitely looks bigger than it is... the wider aspect ratio just gives it a more substantive impression. Part of that is the black framing around the screen which is just natural and seamless. Regardless of what may be in store with the anodizing, I simply would not want a white border around my screen... it's why they don't make large TV's with white casings (with very, very few exceptions).

Trust me, the black/slate is beautiful. Mine came out of the box pristine - not a single imperfection of any sort on the back or sides. My 5 will go naked - no case nor screen protector, and it will wear as it may. Since my 3GS I've been in the habit of keeping my iPhone in one pocket by itself, and 4S looks nearly flawless a year later.

If the anodized coating chips, wears or what have you I call it adding character. I plan to keep this phone for two years (now on the "tick" cycle instead of the "tock") so however it looks in two years, IIWII. It's mine, I'm happy with the choice and I hope everyone else is with theirs.

THIS is what I was wanting to hear! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience so far. Can't wait to get home and unbox my black iPhone 5 that's sitting on my coffee table.

Got my 32GB Black AT&T this morning at 10:25 from UPS, drove to AT&T store to activate on my line (used wife's for upgrade). Then drove to the mall and had it Ghost Armored.

Beautiful, thin, light and very good looking and no scuffs or scratches. In fact at the AT&T store all the employees came to look and ooh and aah, they only got a handful of black ones, the bulk of inventory was white.

Am I happy? Yes, yes I am.
:)

Mine came pristine, went straight to its case "it's new home" and for the next 1yr I will never see what the naked Iphone ever looks like lol
I am quite happy-- it's so much faster and nicer.
