any idea if their cases address the "antennae-gate" issue... I want one bad but not if I get the same performance caseless or with the cheap case I have on now

Pretty much any case helps with the issue since your hand (a conductor) isn't touching the actual antenna.

Not true.. The one I have now drops my bars as well... I want to live my life worry free of the issue... Especially if i'm dropping $80

I said it would help, not completely solve it. If a phone with the antenna on the inside of it will drop bars then obviously the iPhone 4 w/ a case will also drop some bars. It will just help, no case will completely solve the issue so just get the one you like.

I had a nautical blue with white stripe in smooth leather for my 3G and I loved how it looked initially. But over time, the blue bled into the white stripe making it less attractive. The patina from the wear did give it a classic look.

So this time, I ordered the black floata with red interior for the 4. So far, it has been 18 days...it's going to be a long wait. :(

Yes - you should see how awful my violet and white ivolution case looks after a year of use. It's almost a light magenta in most places now. The case itself has held up very well - just the leather dye not so much. If I do end up ordering from Vaja (and I probably will), I will more than likely go for the floater leather this time.

Strange - the blue case I posted in the first post - did no such thing and the colours ranged from very light to dark - no bleed or excessive wear. Some of the lighter colours got a little grubby but it cleaned off. Only 'damage' to my case was the points where it would rub or scuff on the way into my pocket (so like the corners) - they went a little darker in areas no bigger than a few millimeters.

I think the colour bleed is down to the dyes used - I think if you stick with sensible colours and colours from the same colour range beside each other - there shouldn't be a problem.

Having said that I went without stripes this time - the ivolution grip I ordered was vibrant orange with a dark grey interior.

I ordered the "floater" leather because it's holds up better with wear and tear, plus I like the casual look of this type of leather.

Good news. I received conformation email from Vaja that my credit card will be charged. Yeah, the first step I guess. I hope that there are no delays. 45 days is long enough.

Maybe it was just the violet color that was problematic. My red and birch ivolution held up much better. My red classic pouch and red and black retro magnetic flip are made of a different leather that wore the best of all of my cases. The violet is still very nice inside though. I wish there was some way to have the leather re-dyed because the case itself is still in great condition other than the color. Still - I think I'm going to avoid the caterina this time.

Received my first Vaja case a few days ago, gotta say i'm lovin it.

I went with the leather pouch one, here are some pics.

Very nice pouch. I never got into pouches. I personally don't see an everyday use for a pouch, but it could come in handy.

Pretty quick considering that the Black series production time is 45 days. I hope my Black Series is shipped sooner.

Ordered it June 28th and received it July 19th.

Much quicker than I had expected

Looking at the pic, it looks like the case is slightly raised above the side of the iPhone 4. I hope that is not a deal breaker for me as I don't like a case with raised edges. Vaja probably had to design the case this way because of the straight edges of the iPhone 4. The 3G/3GS case is flush (or even lower) with the side the 3G/3GS, due to the curvy design of the device.

That's the iVolution. It is made out of a grainy "floater" leather. The iVolution Top SP is made out of smooth leather and has a stylish stripe running along the case. You can customize all of the colors on the Top SP, plus it has a newer design with extra subtle details. Check out the image gallery on Vaja's site. The flap is secured by gripping onto the top of the iPhone 4. The case is just about completely flush with the side of the iPhone 4. If you're willing to pay for Vaja's quality cases, then it's worth the wait. Just use a different case for the next two months and when you receive it you'll forget about the wait.

Little details like that can vary from case-to-case when they're hand-made. I've noticed slight differences in color tone and small details between the two defective Vaja cases I was sent for my iPhone 3GS.

Pretty quick. Considering that the estimated wait time for the pouch has been 45 days since it launched, there's hope for every other case to arrive early, too.

I just need a $5 coupon and I can purchase mine. A $100 American Express gift card won't work because the total of the case I want comes out to $105. Come on Vaja, do some kind of promotion.

EDIT: Woah, Vaja has changed the prices for many cases. The iVolution Top SP is now $95 (from $85). The iVolution Top is $5 more expensive, and I believe the iVolution Grip may have had its price reduced or raised. The iVolution Top SP was the case I wanted, so this isn't good news since $85 plus shipping was already too much to pay.

Just ordered this iVolution Stripes model. Will be lining up in Sydney next Friday for my iPhone so hopefully I will also be able to get a free case to tide me over until my Vaja case arrives. 45 days and counting!

The edge of the case does appear to be flush with the side of the iPhone 4 or just slightly raised.

I am actually getting second thoughts about ordering the Black Series case. My main concern is the flap. Not sure that I want a flap. It will flop down when the iPhone is in use. Quite annoying. And I like ease of access. I like to be able to pull the iPhone out of my holster or pocket and go right to work and not have to tinker with a case. Hmm, if it's not too late, maybe I can change my order to the Grip case.

Grip is the same price as I ordered at last week 65 - are you sure they changed?

The flap is something you like or you don't. It didn't bother me because I would just fold it back when I held the phone. The fact that it provided cushion and prevented my iPhone from getting damage the times I dropped it, made it worth it.

The cases went up $5 from last year.

What do you do with the flap when you are taking a picture, typing an email, playing with an app or playing a game? Fold it back all the time and let it hang? Based on what I like in a case, the Grip Series may be better suited for me.

I let the flap hang down when I am taking a picture. For everything else, I just fold the flap back. The grip looks nice, but there's no top or front protection when you drop it. But if that's what you like, that's what you like and it's your money. :D

I wasn't sure about the Grip, but I know they changed the prices of some other cases. The iVolution SP Top was definitely $85 a few days ago. I was in checkout a few times trying promo codes to get the price with shipping $100 so I could use my Amex $100 gift card.
