1st-gen iPad Mini here...with iOS 8, even though there are a few bugs here and there, but performance has been better than iOS 7. Still does everything I want it to do, and retina isn't a big deal for me. Pretty sure going to skip this year.

I just put 8.1 on my Air, so I'll have to wait and see how it functions. I made a mistake of getting a 16 GB model, though, and may want to upgrade to get more storage. Plus, gotta love Touch ID.

I am still using an iPad 2,4 and I am perfectly happy and grateful for the iPad that I have. The iPad cycle seems to last a lot longer than the iPhone. I do not need touch id and I probably wouldn't even use that feature as I have no need to lock my device. It would be nice to have 2gb ram and that is probably the point when I will upgrade but my family and I love the iPad we have so there is no need to upgrade. I am sure my family would crap if they saw a retina display though lol,

It seems everyone has neglected to mention the potential for an anti-reflective laminated display. For those who read on the fly (or anywhere), its addition could be quite significant...

My current iPad Air is perfectly good but what's that got to do with buying or not buying the new one? New toy syndrome. If you've got the money buy the new one!

Skipping this one

I've upgraded with every model revision, but very, very happy with my air, so unless the come out w/ the air pro w/ 12.9 inch screen I won't be upgrading.

Then i'll have to wait for the 2GB anti-reflective laminated display iPad.

I saw a very cheap 42" or whatever screen the other month! Heck yeah I could go for that and the Mini!

Could honestly live without Touch ID on the iPads. I don't like it very much on my 5S.

Ya monitors are dirt cheap nowadays!

Same here on the TouchID. I'll take it one step further. I don't have it set up on my iPhone 6+.

I am. But then again, I just moved up from an iPad 3 to a used iPad mini Retina last month. That itself was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. Love my mini! :apple:

My rMini does everything I use it for well so I don't think I need to upgrade. Wouldn't mind having touch ID or 802.11ac but I can do without.

Will wait to see what Apple has in store before I say either way. But if I decide to upgrade, it will be a want, not a need... my 3rd gen iPad still serves me just fine. It's gotten a little laggy with the iOS 8 update, but I enjoy the new features enough that I don't mind the lag.

only if the iPad Air 2 has 2GB of RAM otherwise I am good with my iPad Air

Sounds a bit wacky, but honestly- I don't want a thinner iPad Air! And the home button doesn't mean anything to me.

I do like the gold look though, but otherwise, I'm pretty dang happy with what I've got.

(The jump from an iPad4 to an iPad Air was much more significant than the leap from an Air to an Air2.)

Well we don't necessarily know what the Air2 will have so we can't just say the leap won't be significant.. but I know what you mean, it probably won't be anything earth shattering..

If they bump it to 256GB, I may buy in and hand my Air down.

Aside from carrying enough video for a long trip, it does what it needs to do for me.

dHaven't upgraded since my iPad 2 that I got on launch. Yes, it is for sure slowing down but still gets the job done almost 4 years later! Now that I currently have a Note 3 and now getting an iPhone 6 plus, I doubt that I'll be picking up a new iPad for a couple years.

I have an iPad 3 and it runs perfectly for the things I want to do on it. I know the new iPad will be faster, thinner etc. but given Apple's history, I am not anticipating it to be so spectacular that I will pay $500+ for a new one. What has helped me is that I also kept the iPad 3 on iOS 5.1.1. It performs just as fine as it did on the day I bought it. No iOS induced performance degradation.

My iPad 2 is just fine. Unless this one has something unreal that I haven't thought of, I'll stick with my 2 a couple more years. It just works.

I'll be sticking with my retina iPad mini since it still works great! I'll wait until maybe next year or the year after that. After all, I have to save up in case I decide to get an Apple Watch.
