I have the iPad air LTE. although I would love Touch ID on my iPad im not upgrading this year just for that. If they have something spectacular (doubtful) I would consider it.

Sold my iPad Air about a month ago to get the iPad Air 2. Going from Wifi-model to LTE this time.

I have a 6 Plus, but I'll never see it as a replacement for a tablet.

Always good to have a plan !

I am (probably) going from a 4 to a new model Mini LTE (assume upgraded) or failing that a WiFi Air 2.

Yes I may do. I usually upgrade my Ipads between 2-3 years. (I had the iPad 1. Now have the Ipad 3) Over the past month or so it has really slowed down. It keeps freezing and kicking me out of apps at random like safari and twitch. iPad 3 is also starting to really eat at the battery. Now it doesn't last a whole day before I have to recharge it. And also every day the wireless keeps dropping to the point where restarting the iPad 3 fixes the problem. It still works well but it's starting to become a pain to the pint the original iPad was and I upgraded then.

I REALLY hope Apple announce the iPad Pro tomorrow with 2 Gigs of RAM and the rumoured 4K display.

I wouldn't mind if Apple brings improved support of stylus (i.e. changes in the digitizer) for, well, business and creative uses. Though I would guess if Apple really does this, the stylus won't likely be bundled in the iPad package, but "iPad Smart Pen (Space Grey/Silver/Gold) for $xx.xx" *cough*.

:D

iPad 4 here, runs iOS 8 awesome, never a single problem with it....no reason to upgrade for probably at least another generation..:apple:

iPad Air here, see no real reason to upgrade based on the rumours. More RAM is the only thing I'd truly want.

Touch ID doesn't hold nearly as much value on the iPad as the iPhone in my opinion, as the iPad tends to be unlocked far less per day.

I'm saving my money for the Apple Watch/new MBP in 2015.

iPad 3 here. Don't intend to replace it yet. It's served me well for over 2.5 years and since my interest in touchscreen gaming has diminished over the years, I dont really feel the need to replace it until it stops working completely. Safari, netflix, feedly and youtube are all I ever use it for anymore and it works perfectly alright for all those apps. Apple will have to come up with a lot more than "faster" and "thinner" to empty my wallet for one of these again.

iPad 3 user here. I went over to the Surface Pro 3 because I wanted more functionality with my device (no regrets whatsoever, still kept the iPad 3 but rarely use it).

I've been eyeing this press statement in anticipation. If they come out with an iPad pro that runs OS X then I'd drop my Surface Pro 3 in a heartbeat for it. If they come out with the usual "it's 0.0001m thinner and has a slightly faster CPU" then it wont be worth going from an iPad 3 => this, and certainly wont be worth trading in the SP3 for this.

I don't think Touch ID is that important on the iPad. If it's on the home button, which it looks like it is in the leaked images, it will be useless. Depending on how I have my case stand set up, the home button could be on the left or right. By the time I flip open the cover, and move my finger to the Touch ID, it seems that it would be a slower process than putting my password in. With the iPhone, my thumb is already in position to access the sensor.

I think it would be a win if there was a sensor embedded in the entire length of the bezel.

I'm probably skipping, but not because my 1st gen Mini is perfectly good. Don't get me wrong my Mini works fine, but the non retina screen just doesn't look that good next to my 6+. I've hardly used my Mini since getting my 6+ about 3 weeks ago.

I don't want another Mini, I feel the need for a larger screen on my next iPad. I'm skipping so I can wait and compare the iPad Air 2 and the rumoured iPad Pro side-by-side. One of those will most likely eventually become my next tablet.

I've had an original iPad wifi 32Gb, then another original iPad 3G 64Gb, then an iPad 2 3G 64GB, then an iPad 3 3G 64GB, then an iPad Mini 3G 64GB as well as an iPad 4 4G 64Gb, then sold both of those an got an iPad Air 4G 128GB...

So I've had every single iPad iteration there has been (other than the retina mini), and this year I'll be sticking with my Air. This will be the first new iPad that I won't be upgrading too - I've decided that the iPad is great at what it does, but I really need a Mac to properly get stuff done.

Still love the Air though! :)

After seeing the leak and being doubtful of 2GB RAM on the Mini, I would still probably upgrade if they do split-screen apps and/or make it lighter (please do). If none of this is met, there's no way I would upgrade.

Every iPad I've bought the cellular model. For the iPad Air, I told myself I didn't need it, so I got the regular one. I regret doing that, but I wasn't going to buy another iPad Air, so I'll be getting this new one.

That or maybe a Surface Pro 3.

I have the iPad Air so there is little to no point in me selling it for the Air 2. I would be doing the same things on it but it would have a finger print reader lol. Yeah exactly

I'm in the same boat. And while I would LOVE a fingerprint reader, it just doesn't justify the switch. I'll likely wait a generation or two. I'm sure this'll be good for a long while considering the iPad 2 is still viable.

Bending complaints in 5.4.3.2..

Interesting to see if thinner translates into problems for the new Air.

I would love to know why Apple are obsessed with making each addition thinner. My iPhone and iPad are thinner than previous models and to be honest I don't really care. It wouldn't bother me if both were 1mm thicker! Perhaps this was a 'really great idea' they had during a liquid lunch and they just can't let it go?

Don't get me wrong I love the design, I just don't get the thinner obsession. How many years until we have a 3 or 4mm thick device?

Keeping my iPad Air, will update next time. Rite now there is absolutely nothing compelling about the Air 2. I have never even kept a passcode on my phone so touch ID is not appealing to me.

Touch ID is the only reason I'm upgrading. It's alot more than just a way to unlock your device...especially now that you can use Touch ID to authenticate in third party apps and for in-app Apple Pay on the iPad Air 2. I think this version will last for a good 2-3 years.

I have the iPad3, wifi+cellular. It's ok, and there's nothing really wrong with it. But I'm getting the new iPad Air2 mainly because my old iPad can't connect to the LTE network in Australia. 3G is just too painfully slow to do anything worthwhile.
