I'm a bit different...
I love the White Macbook, I have never seen a better looking laptop EVER..
When I saw the new design, I felt a little piece of me, was done.
Hoping the next design, brings back alittle "white"

I have the same one, and it's not going anywhere for a very long time. Oh- and now that they have 4 gig RAM chips, I've heard that these will recognize 6 gigs of RAM.

Seriously, is the DDR2 667MHz Ram?? what is the exact configuration of it any links to people who have done this already?

my blackbook is still kickin

2.2 ghz, 4 gb ram, 320 gb 7200 rpm drive, 256 X3100 gpu

2 years left on applecare

I replaced my 2GHz Core Duo 512MB 80GB (upped to 2GB/250GB) a month back with a stock 2.4 macbook.

I remember lusting for a 13" "iBook" back when the macbook was released and when it came in black too I was right out there to buy one. LOVED the black like the Wallstreet I had years ago.

The integrated graphics were annoying and the heat/noise. The creaking was very annoying too. Eventually the battery died (due to my own bad recharge practices).

Now I have it running as my media center in closed mode upside down so the heat radiates upward when it's recording via EyeTV etc. I bet I'll still get use out of it for years to come (when compared with the AppleTV not being a power house).

Hmmm now I miss it

Keeping it clean...

What does everyone do to keep their blackbook clean. I have a cheap ebay cover now and it covers both the rest and the keys but also makes marks on the screen. I'm looking for something that will clean the screen and a better palm rest and keyboard cover. Thanks in advance.

I used a Blackbook for six months, now my wife uses it. On balance I like the aluminum unibody model better - lighter, runs cooler, doesn't get so smudged, backlit keyboard. On the negative side it lacks Firewire and I still find the trackpad operation to be funky (and still nearly unusable in Windows). But I have a soft spot in my heart for the sleek-looking Blackbook.

I clean the case with Mr Clean Magic Eraser (the regular one, NOT the foaming one). It works perfectly and gets all the smudges off quickly. I use the cloth it came with moistened with a bit of water to clean the screen. And I use the foam insert that came with the computer as protection between the keyboard and screen when closed. Finally, I use trackpad film to keep it from getting shiny.
