IMO anyone worrying about the cost of Apple products can't afford them...as to your remark about the G8...good for you, but you still don't have the best iPhone in your pocket...You can blow 15 stacks on a vehicle that's obsolete but won't pay $120 for the the highest ranked smart phone?...where's the logic in that?

A buddy of mine rocks a 3GS, he has a couple different businesses he owns and he sold one of his buinesses about a year ago for 80 million dollars. He owns 8 Ferrari's and has more money than anybody I personally know. He rocks a 3GS. Ironic you mentioned this because I talked to him on tuesday and asked him how he likes his 3GS. He told me it does everything he wants it to do and he is holding on to it for a year or two. The 3GS isn't obsolete like everyone thinks. Just 2 months ago People were all on it's nuts and then Iphone 4 comes out and 3GS is obsolete, lol The 3GS is an amazing phone and probably nicer than alot of current phones out now. I seen the Iphone 4 HD video quality it's fantastic, the resolution on the screen is hands down the best you can get right now, it is alot better than 3GS and many other phones. It has double the memory the 3GS has. A camera to do live video while talking, and the flash on the camera is something I wish my 3GS had, it would be cool if it recorded videos like the Iphone 4 and took pictures on that level. I can live without it though, not that big of deal. The 3GS takes great pictures compared to my previous Nokia 6085 that I rocked. The Video recording on 3GS is very nice, or at least nice for what I use it for.. If it was HD that would be great, it doesn't make me any difference though because 3GS is still a badass phone and it's perfect for what I use it for.

As far as the vehicle thing, lol the car isn't obsolete! G8's are very good cars. I need a car and I thought it was a good choice. Cars are not an investment , most things aren't including a Phone.

What is so hard to believe about it? I signed up for At&t on may 22nd and got my iPhone 3GS 16gig... Anybody who bought an IPhone may 22nd or later qualified for an iPhone 4 or keep your 3Gs and receive a $50 credit because the 3GS came down in price to $149 for the 16gig model and $199 for the 32gig model.... This is right before they discontinued both and cAme out with the 3GS 8 gig model with the new OS4 on it. Done my homework. I made out by getting $50 off my bill in credit vs not getting it and paying $19.99 re stocking fee for the iPhone 4... So that is $70 in my pocket to keep my reliable phone. Plus they don't make an otter box for iPhone 4 yet and I spent $50 for my 3GS otter box and if I traded my 3GS in that's more money out if my pocket. $120 would be out of my pocket by this point considering the $70 and $50 just to have an iPhone 4 that isn't really that big of leap ahead of 3GS. Next year I will be able to get the good price on a phone at att and the even newer iPhone will be out and I believe that will be worth upgrading as it will be a big leap on the 4g network. Skipping the iPhone 4 and will put myself in the newer model yet. If I even decide to stay with att I will have options in the future. And I will have my 3Gs if I decide to jailbreak it or use it as a door stopper. Don't disbelieve or think in fooling myself with 3GS because I don't have an iPhone 4 I don't want one. If I did I would have one. I just bought 2009 G8 Gt with 15,000 miles on it for $25,000 don't think an iPhone 4 is out of my reach lol

Hey to each their own. I hope you enjoy the phone for it's shape and lack of signal issues. These are two legitimate reasons to keep the phone. However, claiming that you ended up ahead financially is a definate error, because you could have made more than that money you saved by reselling the phone at the conclusion of the contract (or right now).

The contrast going from Retina to 3GS is evident. The red/blue/green is darker and more brilliant on Retina where the 3GS looks washed-out.

Android has Flash, You can change your own battery, you don't have to be locked into ATT with high prices on an overloaded network they are to cheap to upgrade...

I'm locked into my contract for 2 years :(

What is the big deal with changing batteries?? I had many cell phones and not once have I needed to change a battery for any reason.
Also with Flash, how many sites do you go on that really use it? Since the iPad, so many sites are changing things around and dropping flash or going to HTML5. Flash is a battery hog anyways. AT&T is also upgrading their network, you expect it to happen overnight?
So locked in for 2 years? So this means you just got it. Why didn't you think of this and research before you got you 3Gs?

Plus they don't make an otter box for iPhone 4 yet

Yes they do:

I'm glad some of you are still enjoying your 3GS...but mine looks like a huge piece of **** in comparison to the iPhone 4. There's no way I could ever go back.

I love OS 3.1.3 and hate the new OS4... I wish I would of never downloaded it because I cannot go back to the reliable OS the phone came with. Now I have issues with the signal (not by holding phone) but in general and my internet drops every 5 minutes. I know OS 4.1 is out but I'm not downloading it and I deleted ITunes off my computer. It seems like the later the OS for Iphone the worse it gets.

I still have the 3GS, but that's where you lost me. It's soooo much better with iOS 4. Multitasking, folders, and unified inbox/quick inbox switching simply rock.

I'm thinking about upgrading to the ip4, but the 3GS with iOS 4 is no doubt an awesome phone.

I've ten months to go on my 3GS contract so I won't be getting the iPhone 4.

Even if I was due for an upgrade, I don't think I'd change. After all, as far as I'm concerned, it is only a useful accessory and not a toy. My 'phone does all I want it to. I can see the display quite clearly. I have no desire for the "latest equipment" and I certainly have no need to impress anyone with my possessions!

Until the next iPhone offers something really worthwhile to me, my 3GS is here to stay. :)
