The iPhone 4 is very nice.

However, it was either get an iPad 3G or upgrade from a iPhone 3Gs to an iPhone 4.

Well, I love my iPad 3G so that means I love my 3Gs. :)

I love my 3Gs, only thing I am getting the iPhone 4 is the better camera with flash.
I hate the look of the iPhone 4 compared to the 3Gs, I prefer the curve to a flat back. I also have dropped my phone a few times so a glass phone that is probe to shatter isn't really that great.

If someone offered me the iPhone 4 but in the 3Gs body I would accept in a heartbeat.

Android has Flash, You can change your own battery, you don't have to be locked into ATT with high prices on an overloaded network they are to cheap to upgrade...

I'm locked into my contract for 2 years :(
For me, Flash is a nuisance and I could care less, but for others (like you), it may be of some importance. The iPhone 4's battery life kicks butt, and I don't appreciate the idea of carrying extra, replaceable batteries. However, I agree with you about AT&T. Apple really needs to expand our carrier choices... :(

I love my 3GS, the iPhone 4 hasn't been released here (who knows when ) and I've never seen an iPhone 4 in person so I love my 3GS. :D
You'll love iPhone 4. No joke.

we don't believe you...you need more people

What is so hard to believe about it? I signed up for At&t on may 22nd and got my iPhone 3GS 16gig... Anybody who bought an IPhone may 22nd or later qualified for an iPhone 4 or keep your 3Gs and receive a $50 credit because the 3GS came down in price to $149 for the 16gig model and $199 for the 32gig model.... This is right before they discontinued both and cAme out with the 3GS 8 gig model with the new OS4 on it. Done my homework. I made out by getting $50 off my bill in credit vs not getting it and paying $19.99 re stocking fee for the iPhone 4... So that is $70 in my pocket to keep my reliable phone. Plus they don't make an otter box for iPhone 4 yet and I spent $50 for my 3GS otter box and if I traded my 3GS in that's more money out if my pocket. $120 would be out of my pocket by this point considering the $70 and $50 just to have an iPhone 4 that isn't really that big of leap ahead of 3GS. Next year I will be able to get the good price on a phone at att and the even newer iPhone will be out and I believe that will be worth upgrading as it will be a big leap on the 4g network. Skipping the iPhone 4 and will put myself in the newer model yet. If I even decide to stay with att I will have options in the future. And I will have my 3Gs if I decide to jailbreak it or use it as a door stopper. Don't disbelieve or think in fooling myself with 3GS because I don't have an iPhone 4 I don't want one. If I did I would have one. I just bought 2009 G8 Gt with 15,000 miles on it for $25,000 don't think an iPhone 4 is out of my reach lol

I can see my 3GS screen just fine. I can make out words and pictures with ease. No issues

I returned my 4 and am back to loving my 3GS, but even I know the 4's display is miles better than the 3GS' display. Its not just the resolution but the color range is better with blacker blacks.

Well I love my 3GS and I'm sure I would love my iPhone 4 too if I had one. But I plan to keep this phone until my contract expires the end of 2011--so the love will continue for quite some time.

That doesn't change the fact that it looks like antiquated crap. I checked out a 3GS after selling mine and upgrading to the 4. No thanks.

why because it don't have a HD camera , and some retina display and video calls. All and all 3GS does the same thing.. I use internet/text/making calls/and every blue moon I might take a picture or something.

So I guess the iPhone 3G is just as good then. Heck even the 2g iPhone is as good as the iPhone 4. Speed and memory obviously don't matter to you since the iP4 is faster and has more memory than the 3GS.

I am still using two 3GS and in reality, the iPhone 4 is really only slightly faster. Yes, I have an iPhone 4 as well. Come on now, the speed increase isn't that much more noticeable.

Don't be absurd. The speed difference between the 3GS and 4 is not nearly as noticeable as 3G to 3GS.

IMO anyone worrying about the cost of Apple products can't afford them...as to your remark about the G8...good for you, but you still don't have the best iPhone in your pocket...You can blow 15 stacks on a vehicle that's obsolete but won't pay $120 for the the highest ranked smart phone?...where's the logic in that?

I could of traded my 3GS for an Iphone 4 even up at ATT minus stocking fee.. Could of got one didn't want one.

My 3GS serves me well enough. iOS 4 slowed it down very noticeably, but not enough to make me frustrated with it. iPhone 4 has some features I'd really like to have, but not enough to replace a $300 device I've only had for 1 year. So I'll keep my 3GS until the iPhone 4's successor comes out. Even if it's got no major new features and is simply a 4S, I'll feel more comfortable sticking to a 2 yr upgrade cycle (I kept my iPhone Edge for 2 yrs, skipping the 3G).

To answer the question though.. no. It's too slow now, thanks to iOS 4, to keep "loving" it. But I'm definitely still "liking" it.

Nothing wrong with that. I had three lines upgradeable. Got the iPhone 4 first. Couldn't make up my mind after buying the 4 on wether to buy more iPhone 4s for the other lines or buy 3GS for the other lines. I finally made up my mind and bought a new 32GB 3GS and a new 8GB 3GS. The 8GB came with 4.0 and it seriously is fast.

As I said above, the speed between the 3GS and the iPhone 4 is barely noticeable. The iPhone 4 is maybe a half a second faster then the 3GS.

Besides that, I really didn't pay allot of money to get the new 3GS phones. I sold my original 32GB for $300 a few weeks ago and used that to buy my two 3GS phones.

I don't regret it. In a few months, I'll probably buy a white iPhone 4 at the no contract price just to have one.

I still love my 3gs! Well, I just got it, days before iPhone 4 came out -- got a great deal on the 16gb! With my trade-in allowance at Best Buy on my iPhone 3g 8gb, I only paid $49 for it. What's not to love? :D

Of course I'll probably upgrade to iPhone 4 at some point. It's a sweet phone.

I loved it, when I still had it. Just wait until all those new games that come out will only be for the iPhone 4 - or will play better on the iPhone 4.

A few of my friends have the Iphone 3G and it's to slow for me. My 3GS works great, I liked it better on OS 3.1.3, the new OS4 on it isn't as stable and I lose signal often and my internet stops working daily on and off. 3GS has plenty of memory for what I need it for.
