Smart watches caused big price drop in the mechanical & automatic watches market. Its fun to change the face of your watch everyday with smart watches.

I still wear and rotate through a small set of traditional watches. I have an Apple Watch (I'm trying to sell) and have worn it occasionally in the aforementioned rotation. But I mostly wore it (AW) for fitness tracking. I largely prefer a traditional watch over smart watches.
Which series/size/color/price?

No, they didn't.

If you follow such things, traditional high end watch brands such as Omega, Rolex, have held their price, as have the mid range watches - Citizen, Seiko, Skagen, Tissot and so on.

I know this source is not very reliable but i've seen it all over years in Australia , UAE and other countries.

The Rado i bought is usually very expensive but i bought at very reasonable price. Also bought CK and other well known brands.

People are selling up normal watches in favour smart one what does this tell you?

Sorry posted wrong link. Edited.

That is an opinion, rather than a fact.

Besides, I don't know where you bought your watch, whether it was an authorised outlet, or a place that - on account of its location (such as some of the Middle Eastern or Emirates outlets, or the Canary Islands years ago) offers significant reductions in price because region is designated a tax free zone.

At an authorised dealer, a legitimate outlet, for selling branded watches, (authentic watches, not well made fakes), you will find that prices have remained steady.

Now, in the used market, even from authorised dealers, yes, it is possible to obtain a genuine - authentic - branded watch at a price that is a lot less the what you might have had to pay for that time piece when it was originally sold as new.

Once I was used to using a phone for checking the time. The watch became superfluous. I was glad to get the watch off my wrist. As I do a lot of construction activities as a hobby. They were constantly getting banged up. I have no intention of ever getting a smartwatch. As I don't want something strapped to my wrist again. I don't wear any other jewelry either.

Bought my watch from mall of Dubai a genuine 200% authorized seller.

Pray tell, just exactly how does a "200%" authorised seller (or vendor) differ from a "100%" (which is usually more than adequate) authorised seller or vendor?

Nevertheless, I assume that many products sold in Dubai are tax-free.

Incomes for many who work there certainly are.

Tax free or not free Mall of Dubai is one of the most expensive shopping malls in the world.

The purchase was unexpected but the deal was excellent. When i showed my brother the watch he said i should've brought him one too.

Overall auto watches will become cheaper and cheaper just like other items thanks to apple, Samsung and others.

Glad you have enjoyed your purchase.

However, your posts give the impression that the attractive price - rather the acquisition of the watch itself - was what gave rise to the greatest pleasure for you.

I doubt it; while I think that smart watches are a fashionable and passing fad, - and have been most profitable for companies such as Apple who have produced them - I will say good luck to those who like them.

However, there are others - such as myself - who admire the craftsmanship of a good and well made time piece - who would never consider the transient appeal of smart watches.

Anyway, I rather like my ten year old Omega Deville, and wear it daily.

I am failing to understand you, why can not it be a pleasure to purchase something i like at a reasonable price? What do you want me to do then shed some tears and bang my head on the wall ?

The attractive price was mentioned to indicate to you even Luxury watches are becoming cheap, in fact very cheap comparing to years ago.

And ....yes the acquisition was more enjoyable than the attractive price because no watch game me a pleasure but my beautiful Rado.
Its amazing despite years use and abuse the watch doesn't have one tiny scratch. Rado Florence series are the most beautiful and toughest of all.

Oh Nice! Skagen makes some nice watches!

I have a few Deep Blue, some fossils, armand basi, and a few oniss watches - trying to sell most of them since i really only wear one of my fossil watches and the deep blue

Agreed; Skagen makes some very nice watches - I had one and gave it to my brother as a gift - very reliable, elegant and beautifully made.

I alternate between a couple Vostok Amfibias and Komandirskies. Never had any interest in a watch with a battery.

Those are nice watches as well! I have seen a guy on a facebook group with a Vostok that I have fallen in love with every time I see it.

I have 2 citizen eco drive watches. One watch my dad gave me when I turned 30. And the other citizen was when I got my first job that paid $$$. I still wear them they never go out of style and they look classic. I’d rather buy watches to commemorate important events in my life then an Apple Watch that stops working when the battery runs out and your are SOL. I’m going to have these nice watches 20 year from now but my Apple Watch... it’ll probably be recycled and broke up into 1000 pieces.

Oh I love that design. I’m a citizen fan. I only buy this brand.

I agree on the Auto watches. There are certain brands that simply hold their value. This will not change any time soon. I bought a Rolex about 4-5 yrs ago. It was a great deal at 8500 at the time (got a discount). The current retail price on it has actually increased since I bought. I could easily sell this watch used for what I bought it for, if not more.
