iPad mini Who will be lining up for the iPad mini?

It was 33 degrees in Appleton Wi, no way was I gonna stand in line.
I got there at 8:05, about 30 cars in the parking lot although some were employees cars. Walked right in asked for a black 32Gb mini and got it! Took about 5 minutes to process and I had it in hand. I hung around another 5 minutes checking out what was happening. i heard a clerk say they were almost out of 16Gb but they expected more that afternoon.
so if you wanted a 16GB they sold out first but they will get more.
I'm updating and restoring now.

No reason to line up at all what so ever. I called local bestbuy across from work and they had white and black mini in stock for all sizes. Once I got there white was sold out for 16gb but all other colors and sizes were available. I picked up a black 16gb and used my reward zone premier silver card to get 60 day returns. I will be testing this device for a solid 45 days and hunting for slick deals. I am pretty sure I will be returning this mini back to bestbuy with the extended returns due to screen or better price.

Went to the Altamonte Springs store at about 9:45 AM, literally one person in line in front of me.

They were all sold out of white, but I wanted black anyway. In and out in 5 minutes.. best launch day experience I've ever had.

yup thank god for corporate america. Bestbuy wants me to spend $2500 a year to get reward zone benefits. I am excerising my benefits I gained from spending $$$ with bestbuy. They also have a price match policy that will be in effect for 60 days as well which I can use if I want. If you have any problems do me a favor. Buy out bestbuy and become the majority stock holder and change their premier silver benefits. Till then I am going to enjoy and test the mini for 45 days and maybe even 59 days. Heck I might buy another one on november 4th and use the holiday return policy that goes on till FEB 2013 for premier silver. So what you think about that.....

Despite Apple's propensity to (deliberately) create inventory shortfalls and artificially inflate demand, this one is going to be a very hard sell. These are going to be plenty available to anyone who wants to just stroll into the Apple Store anytime on or after release date.

I guess that's why all the preorder units sold out in 2 days huh....pfft.[

Of course they can. They require an ID for all returns, no matter how you paid for it.

I bought a mini this morning. Super easy. I arrived at the Apple Store at 8:15am. There were only 8-9 people in line. They sold out of all white minis before 8am (gave out reservation cards) except for two 32GB cards, because someone changed their mind.

I was in and out in under 10 minutes, including the short wait in line.



At 8:45am, this is what the store looked like. No line and a pretty empty store.

Got there about 15 mins before open. I was like the 10th guy in line.

When the store opened, there were like 14 guys.

Everyone wanted the iPad Mini. No one was waiting for the iPad 4th gen.

Too bad, they only have the Black iPad Mini.

Got to my local Best Buy at 7:50. By the time I parked and got out of the car, I was #10 in line. They had a decent stock of the black Mini (all sizes) and some small quantity of the white. The guy said that they even expected an additional shipment early noon.

Got there around 9am... 5-6 people in line. Well organized, super efficient, you get paired up with an employee (usual opening day protocol). Apple employee holding a fat stack of "available iPad mini cards". Plenty of stock although they were sold out of the white 64.

Could probably get one at lunch or after work if you wanted.

Telling the truth

This is one of our smaller stores in San Diego, too. Our flagship is at least 6 times bigger. I've been hearing around these forums that some stores are receiving second shipments this afternoon so I'd check with your local store. Perhaps they'll have more to accommodate the weekend crowds.
