Gotta love when the fine folks at MR feel the need to remove a post that totally owned this fool!! Oh well, I at least hope some people got to see that sweet post! No justice for the new guy I guess.

Awww and I missed it! Darn! Well good thing you showed some strangers on the internet how you own people. Great priorities.

Anyway, I for one don't like the design of the new iPhone. I think it looks too industrial, BUT with that said, I need to see it in person. Pictures lie.

To answer the question.. Yes I will be upgrading to this because I upgrade every damn year!! This is the upgrade I am most exited about! Because Steve Jobs said its an A+ upgrade and I believe everything Steve says because he is Magical..

I like the way you think! :D

Can't make a decision until I see a final product iphone. Right now I'm 50/50..

I'm with you on that one. I would love to get the front facing camera for Skype. I have family all over and we Skype all the time. I would like to test out the HTC Evo and compare the two

There's no doubt I'll upgrade but have 12 of my 24 month contract with O2 left on my 3G S so, I, like many others will be on the 2011 upgrade. Can't afford to buy it outright so it's gonna be a long slog!

I'm sitting this one out, mainly because I'm not so sure I want to stay with ATT anymore. I've upgraded every year thus getting locked into new contracts.

My 3gs contract is up Feb of '11 at that time I'll decide whether I want to stay with AT&T and if I do, I might as well just wait until the 2011 iPhone or depending on what happens with the iPad maybe I'll invest in that and pick up a basic phone..

double the resolution screen
better back camera with flash
720P video
front facing camera
better battery life
faster processor

sounds pretty good to me so far. Not sure what everybody is expecting, but I cant wait.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

If it's as fast as an ipad with equivalent battery life then hell yes. Don't even are about the HD recording or screen, and really don't care about the front facing camera. But gimme that speed! :D

Im ready for an upgrade, this 3g is starting to get dated....lol At this point from the looks of the pictures, i prefer the current styling of the phone, but only the final product will tell. a bit off subject, but when the new iphone is released, what will be the ballpark going price for a 8gb 3g?? it was just replaced last week under applecare and it stays in an ottebox so it should be like new. not to mention, in june it will still have applecare included with it when i sell. just trying to get an idea, figured i could sell it with the applecare and make enough to pay for most of the new iphone at upgrade pricing.

Apple needs to come heavy and they know it. The biggest thing is to add other carriers, phone as a hot spot. There's a lot of android folks who will pick up an iPhone on the carrier of their choice should that come to pass.
As well as iPhone does, apple is missing out on a market of millions of customers that are not on AT&T. And only using android because they can't get the iPhone on the carrier they want. This ain't 2007. Apple needs to step it up.

That's my take on it. No one really knows Apple's plans except for Apple. Perhaps the iPhone shows up on another carrier later in the year, perhaps it doesn't. But if it does, I don't want to be a few months into another 2 year contract with, hands down, the worst carrier I've ever used. If it doesn't, AT&T is so bad around here that I may not bother with another iPhone anyway and go with WinMo 7 or Blackberry (after using a Android phone for a while, I'd rather slam my **** in a sliding glass door than actually buy one of those things). Apple threw a rope over the branch a couple of years ago, let's see if they're so thick-skulled that they now hang themselves with it.

The other interesting thing is two years ago my son would have sold his soul for an iPhone. He wanted one more than anything. This time around, I don't really think he could care less. If I showed up with new WinMo phones on Verizon, that would be just fine. And they'd actually work, too.

Same here. I'm not due to upgrade until the end of August anyway. If the final product doesn't impress me, I may switch over to Verizon, and get an iPod Touch for the apps I currently have.

I have a 3G that is up for an upgrade so I will def be upgrading. If I had a 3GS I would have a harder decision but for me it's a no-brainer.

Bad idea. I do that now out of necessity and it stinks.

Really? What phone did you purchase when you went to Verizon? I definitely would not carry whatever smartphone I purchase on Verizon and my iPod Touch with me when I go out. That's just ridiculous.

I have a 3GS and correct me if I'm wrong, but can't I just...

-Sell my very good condition 3GS on ebay for around $300 at least
-Cancel my contract and pay ~$150 for early termination
-Sign a new 2-year contract and get the new iPhone for $200 plus a relatively small activation fee

So overall it would cost me around $100 to upgrade?

Or do you guys think AT&T would not allow this/have a problem with it that could endanger my relationship with them or something?

Can't open a new account for 90 days after cancelling. You're best option is to add a line for an extra $10/month (and you have to get a family plan). Then swap your phone to your primary line. Then after 30 days cancel the added line and pay the ETF.

I don't plan on it, I don't ever see myself using a front facing camera (I have my MBP if I want to video chat) and the performance upgrades don't really justify the price of another upgrade. It looks cheap and clunky too...

How can you come to an conclusion before the product is released?

AT&T says I can upgrade 6/20 and I feel confident I can sell my 3Gs 32 gig for what I paid for it but I will have to hold the new iPhone in my hand and play with it before I decide. A front facing camera means nothing to me.
