Will you buy the iPhone 8?

  • Heck yes, no doubt!

  • I'll wait and see

  • Doubt it

  • Not a chance

I did say that it was "alleged". ;)
And sometimes the idea behind something can be true even if the literal facts aren't. My point was simply that no one can ever say, "that's it. There's nothing new to be discovered here!"

Thanks for those alternative facts. :D

I can't believe how many people say there's "no doubt" that they will be buying a product that hasn't even been revealed yet. Sometimes I feel like this is why Apple doesn't even have to try to be innovative anymore.

I agree with this. I've calmed down a lot over the years.

I bought every iPhone each year from, the original up until the 4S.

I skipped the 5 and went to the Galaxy S4. I came back for the iPhone 6+. That was the first time I ever kept any phone for two years. There was something empowering, and satisfying about not letting the latest phone draw me in.

I intend to be empowered again by keeping my iPhone 7 for no less than two years. And while launch time is exciting each year, that excitement comes and goes.

With all that said, and being into esthetics as much as function the iPhone 7 is THE BEST hardware Apple has produced in a phone. Honestly, there's no reason for me to upgrade, I'm legitimately happy.

Depends on TouchID, PPI, ...?

Although I agree with the basic premise, on which you are commenting, we already "know" plenty about the next iPhone. I, personally, don't know enough yet regarding my own desires, but there is enough info out there to make an informed decision, IMO.

I have had my 6 Plus since launch day three years ago and I feel that it's time for an upgrade. I'm expecting to want the 8 but if it's disasterous then I'll get a 7s.

For me apple has to sale me a $1000+ Phone. I like most on this site work hard for my money and if apple can't justify that much I won't buy it. As of now the selling points are found in cheaper phones (s8).

I don't see what apple can do that will justify that much money but I have been surprised for the better by apple before.

Yep I'm in, this will be the first phone I ever preorder I'll be preordering @ 3am when it's a go, but with all the hype and the shortage of iPhone 8's probably it will be like a month or so before it would get in my hand. Just not sure if I should go thru carrier (Verizon) or apple

Yup Confirmed with my friend Apple Store Manager Only way to get IPhone 8 will be Via PreOrder Reservation. And Apple IUP members will be Given No Preference.

There's a few way to Improve Your Odds of getting a PreOrder.

#1. Use an iPad with the Apple Store App to make your purchase Apple Servers give a preference to Apple products.
#2. Have you Credit Card information Linked to Your Apple Account and Profile ahead of time No way to do it at purchase time it takes to long do it before hand.
#3. Practice first make a few small purchases a charging cable a case etc you can always return it later. Just so there's no delay or Unforseen Security hick up at checkout time Like the bank Flagging such an expensive purchase from a merchant you may have never used before.
#4. When you do finally get the chance to Pre-Order the IPhone 8 you have Maybe 30 seconds if You get in There is No time to Decide back and forth between Colors or GB Size or Carrier. You have 30 seconds to Say Verizon, 128GB, Matte Black, and Click Check Out.
So many times people post stories of being in for a PreOrder but when they go back and pick a different color and then try and Check Out it's too Late.
#5. Last and most important You can't Be a New Customer Getting Approved By a Carrier, and Credit Check they Run takes 60 Seconds You Do Not Have. You have to Be an Existing Customer or on the IPhone Upgrade Program. And come to think of it Few People with IPhone 7 or 7 Plus models qualify because it has to be 10 months or so before you Can Upgrade not sure Exactly. But there's gonna be a lot of upset IPhone 7 and Plus IUP owners.

LOL. Either you're full of it or your friend the “Apple Store manager” is. Maybe both. Absolutely no way of knowing this info so far out.
