I'll be getting one of these two watches this week. So far I'm 50/50, what do you guys think? Watch will be worm casually and on trips, price difference between the two isn't an issue. Hamilton vs. Seiko

Definitely the Hamilton if price isn't an issue. Nice watches.

Hamilton looks much better here.

Agree with the pair who have already responded to this question; the Hamilton is a lot more attractive and is more of a 'classic' in appearance.

just bought this 1962 Omega Seamaster Deville with all original parts and this band to replace the lizard skin one

Any thoughts on Montblanc watches? Didn't even know they made them, got my eye on this Star Classique Date:

Any thoughts on Montblanc watches?
They might be Montblanc and "luxury" but if I were dropping that much money on a watch I would want something that is a little well known, has an in-house movement, and has a bit of history/identity.

Didn't even know they made them
Exactly my point.

I'd rather get a Citizen, Omega, Rolex, Seiko (Grand Seiko?), TAG Heuer,.. etc. I'd keep Montblanc for the pens.

Montblanc is actually making some strides in the watch realm. They bought Minerva a couple years back and then started making their own in-house movement. Their designs are actually pretty decent, too. The one Montblanc that caught my eye was their perpetual calendar.

The dial isn't all that ideal, but the fact that they produced a perpetual calendar for $13K is pretty impressive, even if it a modular movement.

On a side note, I still want a JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual in Stainless ($20,800).

Yeah I am also not a fan of Mont Blanc watches.

Perceptions die hard and it will take a long time for people to dissociate MBs image as a pen maker and maker of that horrible cheap and tacky timewalker watches.

Nice watches? I'd go with the Hamilton. I wear one of these:

Made in Switzerland. Why are white people so good at making watches? For example, why aren't there more Korean or Chinese watches? They make tyres, and smartphones, so why not watches?

Watches are jewelry.
Difficult for a new company outside of Switzerland to establish the reputation.

Watch of the day.

The only reason I use a wristwatch is to get (and reply) messages/emails/sms/notifies/etc and control a music player without taking my phone out from the bag.
