Isn't that exactly what moderators are supposed to do? Either way, it's not a big deal IMO.

Every other forum I've posted on the moderators have informed you before changing a thread. Just seems on here that the moderators have, in some cases, a god complex.

If the moderator had added another name (after telling me) because they felt it was worth while, then fine, but to add "don't care" is just a waste of time.

I'm pulling for Mourinho - though I have a feeling he won't want the job...by now he must be sick and tired of the UK's tabloid press.

I agree, he would be fantastic as England manager, but who in their right mind would take the job knowing what the tabloid press are like. They fell in love with Sven when he as made England manager, 12 months later and they changed their tiny minds and went after him. And most of the crap written about him was not for footballing reasons but who he was bedding that week.

It's the stuff nightmares are made of. I really, really hope they're not seriously entertaining this idea.

Problem is the FA management are desperate —*but unwilling to be daring…

Also if you watched the interview with Shearer last night you could see he wants the job —*which makes him a rarity I think. :D Probably sitting next to the phone all day. :D

*shudder*

Just wait and see… It's going to be Alan Shearer  ;)

Safe, boring and a guaranteed disaster…

Oh, and he's "local"

Wouldn't even have him on the coaching staff. Great player but pointless putting him in the England setup. Maybe in 10 years or so when he's gained some club experience but not now. If they do hire someone (as part of the whole setup, not manager) based on passion for England then Ian Wright is the only one they could look at.

Actually, it's actually good that England is not in Euro 2008 because given the poor play of the national team, they would have been beaten soundly by the vastly better national teams from the Continent (read: Italy, Germany, Greece, etc.).

So many people are talking about Shearer...is this something we should be worried about?

In the end, as I said before, this is good for England - this way they can avoid embarrassment at the next world cup, assuming the FA, in a rare moment of wisdom, select a good manager.

I didnt even watch the game - But to loose to Croatia is laughable!

Im embarressed for our country!

And yeh I would of resigned. Taking a 2 mil pay out is daylight robbery!

And that is exactly the attitude that gets us beaten more often that not. You should maybe look at the FIFA World Rankings.

Wouldn't the British economy actually benefit with all those football fans who are now staying at home rather than spending all their cash in Austria?

flood warning

There has been a flood warning put out due to 5 million scots pissing themselves laughing.. lol

Perhaps it a blessing.

Did anyone know that domestic violence goes up in relation to how far England go in football tournaments.

It has nothing to do with McLaren, it was England's bad performance and they didn't deserve to qualify one bit (unlike Scotland).

I would add him to the Poll, but I wouldn't want to get in trouble.

I think the OP had a point. I also don't think this thread is the best place to make sarcastic remarks at his expense.

Its amazing how much of the public believes that sacking a bad manager will somehow magically make England into a decent side...
