Runs wonderfully on my 3GS. I remember TheSpaz moaning about 3.0 being sluggish on the 3G, and his logic made him believe that - as apparently everything has to work on a pattern :)rolleyes:) - 4.0 would be sluggish on the 3GS in turn. Absolutely no speed issues at all here, the new features work great, only hitch I've had was Safari stalled loading a webpage over 3G the first time I opened it, but a simple close and reopen fixed that. Also seem to be getting better battery life. Very satisfied.

Is there a new home button click shortcut to get to phone favorites since double tapping the home button triggers the multitasking dock now?

I'm running iOS 4 on my 3G jailbroken runs fine + i've enabled multitasking and wallpapers in background :D

I'm running it on my 3GS. Its a lot faster and responsive. A few bugs here and there. No iBooks on it. I can sign up for Game Center but friend requests dont seem to work or maybe sjobs@apple.com declined me lol. As for multitasking, it works nice. As of now its more of just an app switcher because the apps havent been updated to work with 4.0 yet. No in-app SMS yet due to the previous reason. Photos now give give you an option to see location, like iPhoto. Taking pictures is crazy fast now, there is no lag after you tap the camera icon. Theres only a option to lock in portrait mode and not landscape, idk why? Oh and the digital zoom is present when taking pics. Thats about all ive really had a chance to look at. Cant wait to jailbreak this sucker lol

Still do not have group messaging. On O2 in UK on a 3GS. Also, did not have on previous betas. And Find My iPhone doesn't work.

Even funnier, is I remember saying to TheSpaz that the next OS would be streamlined to ensure it ran well on the 3G, and he was adamant that it would be slower again than 3.0, etc.

I'm finding iOS4 very responsive on the iPhone 3G, I'm really impressed.

I just want the Dev Team to jailbreak it so I can activate home screen wallpapers. I know there's already a workaround, but it's way over my head.

Running it here.

very fast. Can't find a way to close multiple apps yet.

Backup your phone and then restore - you'll get everything back..sms, calendar, even save games.

Do you mean when you have the multi-tasking bar open at the bottom? Press and hold one of the apps like you're going to edit your screen layouts then push the red buttons on the apps you want to close.

Running it on 3GS here. Did an alt upgrade and everything went very smoothly. OS feels quicker than 3.1.3 and the new transitions between apps and windows are great. There are a few non critical bugs that will not doubt be solved in a 4.1 release at the end of June.

Folders are great, I was up to 9 screens and am now down to 4. Multitasking won't really come into its own until updated apps are released though it is useful to jump between apps without having to jump between pages etc and to go straight back to where you left off.

Only major issue for me and I knew it pre install is that I sync both on my mac at home and on my pc at work and without iTunes 9.2 for Windows I currently can't sync my work calendars and contacts. I couldn't resist the update and am gambling on the windows iTunes release coming out shortly.

How did you jailbreak your 3G? Isnt it only 3Gs?

So am i the only one that is noticing lag/slugishness in the SMS app? Thsi is for a 3G not 3GS

My folders don't have the bubble/bump background- it's kind of a dark linen-like pattern now. Anyone else have that?

Installed and working great on my 3GS. Instead of the suggested restore on Gumball Tech I just upgraded (alt + upgrade).

Yeah, that's how it's supposed to be. It 'separates' the home page background to reveal the folder underneath, which has the dark background.

Tethering seems to be available on my 3GS with iOS 4 GM. Anyone else have the option? I turned it on, but haven't yet tested it.

up and running on 3G:

custom backgrounds: no. bummer!
multitasking: no, as far as i can tell
new mail/inbox system: yes
folders: yes
new ipod controls w/ orientation lock: no. still showing traditional popup, no multitasking tray
digital zoom in camera: yes
game center: working
photos faces/places: yes

what else is barred from 3G besides backgrounds and multitasking?

let me know if anyone would like anything tried on a 3G.

settings app is showing more or less identical options to 3.1.3.

You can enable multitasking and other stufff that was not included for the 3G.

can anyone get find my iphone to work? mine's saying it isn't registered with mobilme, but my account is signed into the phone.

does anyone else think that folders are pretty naff? it's cool that it can work out it's own name for them, but only 12 apps per folder? pretty useless.

i think this is the only new feature that i've found so far that i actually don't like, can't wait for the Dev Team to release a JB so i can go back to using Categories :)
