Sometimes I get pretty annoyed when I'm stalking the Spy and come across a thread with a question that was answered just the other day and could have easily been found with even a forum search. That's most of the reason I've been hanging on to this screen shot:

There are some of us that are gifted with height and talent that have kind of a rough edge but they don't mean too much by it and I try to not take anything not said in person seriously.

;)

The thing is, a lot (and I mean a lot) of members never even search to start with, they just make a new thread. Sometimes in the iPhone forums there are 3 exacts threads in the first page alone.

I ALWAYS search.. I don't like to ask questions on here anymore because of the rudeness.. so if I have to ask, it is because I didn't find it before.. The rude members should not assume that I know that there was already a thread.. nevermind that though, the rudeness is not about posting a thread that had already been posted, it is making fun of people, or saying I am a redneck or whatever else the reason be... and it is getting old REAL quick.. :/

Well that's your opinion, this is a community and each member has a different take on things. Should we all behave the way you want us to? Is that right?

Another idiom for you, "you have to take the good with the bad".

Correct, you do have to take the good with the bad, BUT I never said anyone should behave a certain way.. all I am saying is that I never in my life have been a part of a forum with SO many rude members! Didn't their mommas teach them better manners than that?!?!? If you can't say anything nice, dont say anything at all. I don't care who the hell they are, they need to respect other people. Quit being douche bags, and acting like they are 10 years old.. making fun of peoples names, where they are from ect.

People hate repeated threads! and MMS threads!:D

I laugh at them cause people start putting cute cats, and bunnies. ;D

I did not repeat any threads that I am aware of, but I will admit, I do love the bunnies.. matter of fact I posted one recently. It had a pancake on its head.. :)

You must be in the iPhone forums ... Try another one, people are much more cordial in the others.

That would be correct.. I mostly stay in the iPhone forums, being that is the only Mac product I own.. I am starting to go into the other random forums now.

I hate it when peple are rude when your simply trying to ask for some info, but thats the internet for you, its not something specific with this site. You should go post a view on IMDB forums sometimes!

Ive not posted much here, even though ive been registered a long time, as I like to read more than write, but the few occasions I have posted dumb questions (one regarding printing options thru mac) I have always received good replies, but maybe ive been lucky.

Quite frankly, I think it comes with age - though most won't admit it.

I could pull out numerous threads from younger (or at least claiming to be younger) members, both demi and not, that are just down right rude.

When is the last time that you have heard Skunk or iJohn say anything rude?!

But I can sure name a bunch of the younger members that have and on a consistent basis.

btw - I am not singling out Skunk and iJohn in any way

I know that not everyone is going to like you, or the things you post, but why on EVERY thread I have started are people so rude? If you go to my profile and read some of the posts under the "Funny Counterfeit Story" thread I started, everyone is EXTREMELY rude.
If every single thread you started have rude people replying to you. Have you considered the possibility that the problem is you?

Most people here are very helpful.

I know some people can be rude here, just like anywhere else, but in general I have found everyone here very helpful and willing to share their knowledge even on quite simple problems.

I do find sometimes it helps to rephrase a post if people appear to be unhelpful-I think they just don't understand my question and are answering something else.

I did check out your original posts as you suggested. I can't say anything without appearing rude about it.

Anyway, to all on these forums who have made Mac ownership such a joy to a newbie-Cheers, I can't thank you all enough!

To save you from getting flamed in some areas on MR, I would suggest that you refer to your iPhone as an Apple product rather than a Mac product. Apple is the company that makes iPhones, iPods, computers, the Mac OS and other products.

When it comes to rudeness I've seen flame wars erupt and degrade into hacking and dDos (distributed denial of services) attacks over some really stupid crap in forums. Currently Twitter, Myspace and Facebook are having issues with this as well as a number of other sites and forums. It's one thing to get pissed about an issue flame and get kicked out banned or whatever else, it's something else completely psychotic to take it personal and attempt to shut down an entire network because your feelings were hurt.

Then there are worse things that happen thanks to online interaction like stalking, assault, even murder. If a nutcase is determined enough online there is really no such thing as anonymity to hide behind. People really do try to build these digital persona's of themselves thinking no one will ever find out (a weak way to armor ones ego) who they really are sometimes to have their egos shatter when the digital and physical worlds collide--which for some can be psychologically crippling.

Typical scenario in either forum or in any place:

Guy gets rude with girl and she cries
Girl gets atleast four shoulders to cry on

Girl gets rude with guy and he cries.
The guys get his s*** beaten up so bad that he even forgets what all that was for

Just wanted to introduce the gender angle.

Anyway, there is no effective way to stop rude members except to ignore them

the only time i have been rude on this is, The thing over the new quick time, but every one is complaning how bad it is, I rather the new one as its easer, and if you want to do more of the advance things then go to imovie,
