Why does Apple hate Macbook Pro users?

There are a lot of things I could complain about...the economy, women, Europeans, Charlie Sheen........but the GPU in my 15 is not one of them

Mac notebooks seem to be all about balance to me, size, battery life and power in one package. I think most people like that approach, but if you dont then buy one of the windows powerhouse laptops with a 2 hour battery life thats twice as thick.

Better explain why the beer is in such large glasses and not presented in a big jug! Plus best leave the towns and city's alone, don't want to scare our American cousins with views of fights and women in gutters..... ah the British youth of today..

On topic: The ATI GPU is damn good, anything else would require a thicker case with better cooling and louder fans! IMO ATI looks better on the screen too.

I would be buying a new 17"er with all the trimmings, but I notice that Apple stuck a low end GPU into all the MBPs, with no option to upgrade to something less anemic. Why is Apple making it so native-resolution gaming is only possible, and I say this loosely, on the iMac? Did video games kill Apple's parents, forcing them to become BadGPUman?

iMacs have mobile GPUs, like MBPs.
However, they do not throttle from high temperatures.

i think for serious gaming - MBP not being adequate is a non-brainer!

i love my MBP 2011 17" - and i manage to play showgun 2 absolutely fine

Seriously... like 5x the gaming performance of an iPad2, with better screen, a full keyboard, superdrive, 10x the ram, way more hard drive space, better speakers...

I have news for you complainers. Game designers will ALWAYS be trying to make games that exceed the limits of laptops. They don't design the games on laptops or for laptops. When your laptop can natively handle 1080p gameplay, games will offer 2x1080p in 3D =P

Just play your games and enjoy them. They're games after all =P

Macs have never been good game machines. You don't buy a game for your primary games platform.

If you want a good gaming laptop you must look at PCs. Either that, or you could put windows on bootcamp - you'll get a modest performance in graphics and a much larger range of games. Gaming on the Apple is getting better tho - especially with Steam.

For you lot who think this is a troll thread - why post in the first place ( "don't feed the trolls" ) - just ignore this thread entirely and move on...............

I can play new (2010-2011) games at 1280x800 with "decent" performance on my 2009 MBP with 9600M GT.

There's some cases where the games are optimized like COD:BO; I could run it at native 1440x900 resolution with graphics set to High.


Now, AMD's 6750 is dozens of times better than my crappy graphics card so I'm sure it'll do fine. Like Medium/High at 1440x900 with 2011 games.

I was actually surprised when I saw this one in the new MacBook Pros. I thought they were going with the crappy 525M.
