Why does apple have to issue a recall

Man...this is crazy...theres gonna have to be a recall. Pretty much every phone is affected by at least 1 of 4 problems. I'm affected by 2 mainly: yellowing camara and video and proximity sensor. Cause of all the other cool things I can do with this Iphone 4 I tolerate it and work around the issues or try to ignore them ( and I'm a fan)
But come on we can't expect the average consumer to put up with this stuff.
If they silently fix hardware and don't recall I will e eventually go to an Apple store and ask for a replacement.
So what I'm saying is if Apple does nothing then I will just continue to "live with it" cause I rather have it as is with its flaw then not have it.

I doubt there will be a recall, but there is undoubtedly a problem with the hardware. When they quietly swap the production process over to eliminate these problems, the early adopters will still have the phones with the problems. Will this create a two-tier resale market for iP4? If so, the early adopters (myself included) will be screwed...(as usual)...
